I do have another question.  My hair is pretty much gone, just nubble I left to protect the head till it just falls out.  It's pretty sore and dry in some spots.  Anybody have this problem?  Is there anything to help it?  Does it get better when its all gone?

Hi Judy! It's been a few years since I lost my hair but I remember that my head was very tender for awhile after I had it buzzed but after that I really didn't notice any discomfort. It was also tender when the hair began to grow back in. I used a mild soap (dove) when I washed my head. I am sure that whatever body soap you use, as long as it is mild, will work fine. I didn't have any dry spots. Not sure what to tell you to do about those. Also, I can remember that I would get very cold of an evening. I would then remember to put a scalp hat on and suddenly I would be warm again. We seem to lose lots of heat from our heads being bald. Also, be sure and keep your head covered when you are outside in the sun. A sunburn to a tender head would really hurt!

Hugs...Deb

My scalp hurt as the hair was falling out, but once I decided to shave it all off, it was OK.  I don't recall it hurting as it grew back, though.  Mine is now back enough that I stopped wearing my wig last week to work.  Good luck!

Judy, I am doing weekly Taxol. Today will be my third. I have lost my hair two times already. I remember my head being sore until the hair fell out, then it was ok. If you have a sore, you might want to ask your nurses what to put on it, you have to watch out for infection. My hair is thinning, I am waiting to run my hands through it and have a handful, then I will buzz it. This time I ordered a wig online. Previously I went, tried on, etc. The wig arrived yesterday, love the style, but the color is not right. I hope I get the replacement before the buzzcut.

Judy, hope you feel better.

Judy, so far the taxol is easy. No major side effects. You can email me anytime if you have any questions.
