I've heard different opinions about how long to wait to color your hair after it comes back from chemo.  I really don't like the color it is naturally, so how long should I wait?

Kathy: I would check w/ your onco. It seems that each one hs a different time period. One of my bc friends colored her hair as soon as it was long enough and yet my onco told me to wait at least 6 mos-1 yr. I decided that I had earned each and every white/gray hair that had grown back on my head, so I never did color it!

No one told me anything about it....My chemo ended in April and I went wig-less in July, got my first haircut in December. I got highlights at that time.

Just happy to have hair!!

My daughter colored her hair right away much to my dismay because her hair came in the most beautiful, shiny salt and pepper you ever saw. No highlight job could ever have been as pretty, but she was always a blonde and she did not like salt and pepper. Hugs. MK

Thanks.  I am definitely happy to have hair and everyone tells me it is so cute.  However, my DH last night said to me.....I can't believe what a different color your hair is now.  I think he misses the blond wig!  LOL
