My girlfriend was diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer in July. He proscribed tamoxifan and hormone treatments. I suggested that she take one gram of Doctor's Best C3 Curcumin per day, EGCG, and Ubiquinol.

She has been doing that since July 24th, but her neck tumor has and cancer markers have increased.

She's been exercising eating right, etc.

The doctor is changing her medication.

Any suggestion about the curcumin? How much? With olive oil? How long should it take to have an effect?

Many thanks.

In my personal opinion, nothing replaces proper and appropriate medical care. That being said, healthy lifestyle choices utilized as an adjunct to medical care can help enhance quality of life and manage symptoms.

Curcumin is good for inflamation but not sure how effective it is in fighting cancer. There is evidence showing B-17 is effective in fighting cancer. Some people use bitter apricot seeds to fight cancer.

The laetrile debacle has been discussed before, and it just gets dicey when people try to make connections between apricot seeds (which are not FDA approved for treating CA), which also cannot be monitored re: content (ie: active ingredient varies seed to seed, or nut to nut if you will).

I remember when this hit in the 90's sometime and there was this rush in sales.

I do not want to infringe on anyone's right to choose their own form of treatment and therapy, and I will admit there are a lot of things in nature that can help, and I'll admit there are many treatments that may be slow to develop for acceptance in the USA....

That being said, we do need to at least keep in mind ethical treatment. I'm not trying to dismiss that, or any treatment, in particular, but I'd hate to see someone avoid appropriate medical care all together and eat an unknown quantity of a substance. Just urging caution when making correlations or claims....

I noticed an article discussing the use of curcumin in fighting cancer. One thing important to remember is curcumin is fat soluable meaning it needs to be put in fat in order for the body to absorb it.
