Hello ladies

I am a member of Healing Well, but posting on the Ulcerative Colitis board. I was diagnosed in January of this year and have been doing much better emotionally since finding this website.

The reason I'm posting here is because I started reading some of your threads when I found out that a couple of my friends have been diagnosed with bc.  I wanted to read some of your posts and see if I could get an idea of what they are going through and how I could be there.

I just wanted to say to you that I have been amazed with all your courage, togetherness, support and senses of humor. I get the same thing on the U/C board here and it has been wonderful. Things in my life right now are very difficult but the friends I have made here have helped me a lot and I'm glad that there is this website for us to reach out to each other. Plus I just wanted to say that I wish you all the very best in fighting your fight and hoping for counless victories for each and everyone of you all.

Please take care and accept my applause  :)

Thank you and know that we will be here for any of those friends of yours that are fighting our battle. In fact, you are more than welcome to hang out here, too.

There are quite a few of us who have been together for over 5 years. We know enough about each other that we truly are sisters.

God bless you and yours in your fight.

Hugs, Jo-Ann

but a true friend will be sitting
next to you saying,
"Dâmn... that was fun!".

Thanks Jo-Ann

I did actually tell my friends about this website but I don't think they have checked it out. I really wish they would, it is so benificial (sp?) to have support from others who know what you are going through.

I myself have had 3 breast lumpectomies, the first one was only a month after I married my husband, I went in for a checkup and the dr did a breast exam and found a lump... She tried to let me feel it but I just couldn't find the spot she had. I went to a specialist a couple of days later and he did an ultrasound on it. The time I really felt scared was when he told me "I can't tell you that it IS bc, but I also can't tell you that it's not..." I had surgery the following week and it turned out to be B9, but they couldn't explain what it was that they took out... seems my body likes to make weird stuff I guess. Since then I've had 2 more, but those were liquid filled cysts and could be sucked out with a needle.. I guess I have fybrocistic breast tissue so I have to really be careful and get my Mammo every year. I do it in October since that's BC awareness month.

For the last 3 years I have been lump free, let's hope it stays that way!!

Anyways, I hope my friends check out this website and I just wanted to add that I can relate a little :)

Take care everyone
