I called my onco office and left a message with the nurse practioner that works with my doc but have to wait until monday when she gets back to find out if its ok to take omega3 from salmon for leg cramps with armidex. Gosh hate waiting but until then I will stop taking the gel caps.. will let you know what she says. If anyone here has any ideas or thoughts on it I would appreciate it. Skeeter1

Skeeter1,

I am on Arimidex and my onco said Omega3 would be just fine. I also take CoQ-10. Don't forget your calcium and Vitamin D, plus you'll want Vitamin K which helps absorb the calcium and D. I take a combo calcium/Vit. D pill and then I take the chewable Viactiv Calcium called 500 + D + K and also the Viactiv MultiVitamin chewable.

Gotta keep those bones strong!

Getting a little confused, what do you take just for the calcium or is it all of that? Please tell me its not all of it. With the crohn's and other things I take 22 pills a day and the thought of taking more gags me. I have been having a really hard time getting them all down latley. So I have to confess I take nothing for the old bones. So if you have a very small pill let me know.
Thanks
Donna

I take caltrateD/plus for calcium and magnesium 300mg and now I will go back on my omega3 thanks to Laure. I also take a multivit too. I notice that when I took the mag and the omega3 for that week my legs felt alot better I could really tell the difference.... skeeter1

I've never heard of vitamin K for absorbing the D.  I take calcium and D.  I had a nasty leg cramp last night.  wonder if it's related.  I've never considered it related, but I get leg cramps, too.

Hey!  DH is going salmon fishing, anyone need anything?????  We already save the eggs for bait (actually it's great caviar too but that would make him gag bigtime).

Skeeter,

Look for the Viactiv - they are soft calcium chews so no more pills. There are several kinds, and they make a multivitamin as well. The caramel kind are really good, too.

To answer your question, yes I do take the others in pill form and they are big. I highly recommend the Viactiv (look for the purple box).
