It was on while I was working on the PC last night....I missed part of it, but a woman was having prophylactic surgeries due to being positive for the "cancer gene"...bilateral mast, ooph, hyster.  It showed the emotions that the husband went through and the woman trying to empower herself to take control of her own life.  They sprinkled in commercials or ads for ovarian cancer awareness.

It is great to see these issues making the mainstream...

I watched it, Lori, and I thought to myself - if I knew all that I would go through, I would have had proph everything, too. I know the having kids is a big deal, but not being alive is even bigger. Glad they tackled such a sensitive subject.

I saw it too, Lori. It was very moving. I thought she was really brave, but my heart ached for both the husband and the woman. DH said they got the husband's emotions perfectly. DH said he remembered wondering many times "just HOW different our lives were going to be?" A BC dx is traumatic. After that, the prophylactic mastectomy was a much easier decision.

It really is a terrific show. But I'm wondering why Erin always looks to bedraggled?? Is that supposed to indicate the burden she's carrying because of the situation with Dr. McDreamy??

Hugs, Luci
