I don't think I've seen a post from Lauri in a very long time?  She is usually among the first to send New Year's wishes.

Lauri, give us a holler, so we know you're all right.

Hugs from here, more later....Luci

Lauri did post a Happy Birthday to Cathi not too long ago. Somehow I think all of us have been a little quieter than usual. I haven't seen many of our old group much lately. I think it has a domino effect and we need to get our fingers moving and find out where everyone is and how everyone is. I have been waiting for a report from Mia about London. Haven't heard from Shelly in IN for some time. Jen Possible is getting treatment. I was happy to see Chemosabe has posted in the past couple of days as well as Glenda. Wondering about Cyndy and Jackie and how they are doing with new treatment. Where is Sara??? And Angela???? Jo-Ann admitted she needed to post but she has been in a downer. Her sugar is doing cartwheels. So let's see if we can round up some info, OK? Luci are you in the flooding area? We are in the fire area, whole towns are burning down in TX. We have not had a significant rain since I think August and then it was dry before that. Hugs and prayers for all, MK

Hi, Luci,

Thanks for thinking about me. I have been busy with iVillage boards, but lurk here from time to time.

My MN sister put in an order for a hand-knit scarf for her oldest son for a Christmas gift. Well, with two other nephews who would be with us on Christmas day, I figured I better do three. So, I spent happy hours in December knitting away. Then I decided to knit a sweater for Melanie. Doesn't take long with "chunky" yarn on size 10 needles, as you know. Now, I have decided to do sweaters for the other 5 kids in Melanie's play group. Using Lion Brand Homespun yarn that works up quickly.

We were busy over the holidays (belated Happy Hanukkah wishes, BTW). Mother and I took in a Garrison Keillor show the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Wes and Peter were deer hunting. No deer this year.) and had dinner at a French restaurant downtown afterwards. Wes and I saw Judy Collins in concert on Dec. 21. She was wonderful.

Sarah, Jason and Melanie Rose were here for Christmas (they stayed with Jason's folks), so we visited with them a lot. I have been fighting a cold since New Year's Eve. First time I have had a cold in a long time. Feeling basically crappy.

I am taking part in a drug research project. The research company was looking for people who take Lipitor and have LDL that is still 100+. I qualified. They are providing my Lipitor plus either one of two doses of an experimental or a placebo for about 6 months and they play me for participating. It sounded like an interesting project, so I volunteered. I have never had my health monitored so closely. Have blood work, blood pressure checked and UA done every time I go in. They even did 2 EKGs. All at their expense.

We will be heading to Indiana in mid-March when Sarah's second baby is due. She wants us there before she has the baby so we can watch Melanie and their little dog while she is in the hospital.  We are very excited about the newest grandchild. They don't know for certain whether it is a girl or boy, but suspect it is a girl.

Other than that, life is quiet here. Having warmer than normal weather. Most of our snow is almost gone, but the sun has not shone since before Christmas. Getting really tired of the gloom. That's about all the news from here. Sorry I have not been here more. Happy New Year to you and Barry and to everyone else on the board. H & L, Lauri

Dear Lauri...quit lurking and post! I've been wondering why so quiet on the Minnesota front myself.

Love and hugs...

Hello and Hugs everyone.  I have been lurking and keeping up as well, just didn't have the energy to post.  I have had a hard time since Becky's death posting..seems I got too close and it hit too close to home, but I am usually here daily trying to keep up.  My Mother is in really bad health and that is zapping all my energy.  She has been in and out of the hospital all year and this coming Monday she is scheduled to have a bone bisopy on her spine.  She has serious heart problems and when they did an xray to check her lungs they noticed some leisons.  they suspect bone cancer and I am not sure I can handle that, and I know for certain that she can not handle it, she has lost almost 30 pounds over the past couple months and is really frail and in bad health, but determined to live in her house alone.  that is another problem that wears me down.  We have been remodeling our house as well during all this and I am just physically, emotionally and mentally worn out.  The up side is the remodeling is done and I celebrated my 5 year mark this past October.  I have missed all the "seasoned" friends also.  I know I am guility and I ask your forgiveness for being absent.  So I promise to do better this year.

Love you all
Sara

Lauri, Sara, so glad to see your posts.  Seems as if we're all living LIFE with all its ups and downs.  Sounds like everyone could use some real hugs.

You're all so impt. in my life, let's try to be here on a more regular basis, me included.  We KNOW what brought us all together, what keeps us all thinking and caring about each other is a far stronger bond.

Hugs from here, more later....Luci
