I am hoping maybe somebody can help me out because I am pretty confused right now.  I met yesterday with my surgeon for my path after my mast.  The path came back as mammory carcinoma of no specific type (the biopsy came back the same as well).  Further on through the path it says DCIS positive, is that not the type?  I was Her2/neu positive.  Tumour was 2.8X 2 X 1.8.   8 nodes taken all were negative.   Doc has staged at Stage 1 T2, however everything I read would indicate to be Stage 11 A, why would they stage it at 1.  Any help would be appreciated...

Hi Chloe-
Not sure I can help you..but it may be that there were pieces of the tumor that were DCIS...I think that people have a certain percentage of the tumor that has a DCIS component. I thought it would be a stage II also..... you may want to ask the doc to clarify,....
