:-)

I just wanted to say hello to everyone.  I met some of you when I posted on ivillage under asgiven. I never did really figure out what happened with that mess and just kind of got lost in the shuffle. I have been keeping up by lurking.

For those who don't know me.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994.  I had a lumpectomy, radiation and chemo...was given a clean bill of health with an 85% cure rate. Well....in 1999, I had mets in my lung.  I had a lobectomy with no further treatment.  I am doing great so far and just living life to the fullest.  I recently had breast reconstruction....the "girls" as my surgeon called them (my breasts) ...had become increasingly different sizes. So, I opted for a reduction in one breast and a breast lift...also some other little nips and tucks. yeah   I'm still healing, but I think I will still need some more reduction in the one breast.

Anyway...just wanted to say hello to some old friends.

Hi Susan. Somehow I have your name on my IM list and see you on line occasionally. I sure wasn't aware that you had mets in the lung and I am so glad to hear all is going well now. BC sure is a gift that keeps on giving. There are many of us still here, but we have lost a few you met in SC, which you probably know if you have been lurking. It is so sad when we lose such wonderful young women , especially. Most of us posting here are doing well, we have quite a few new members who fit right in and I would feel safe in saying, "All is well!" We have tried to let the past go and go on to the future. Jo-Ann posted recently of seeing Peg G. when she was in Dallas. Good to see you here saying, Hi. Come back more often. How is WV? I was in Wheeling the weekend of March 9th. It is great to go "home". Hugs MK

Oddly enough, I was having pain in my ribs....on the right side. I assumed I had mets there. I had a routine chest xray and there it was in my left lower lobe. I was very fortunate that it was contained in the one lobe....and this fall will make 7 years. I am so blessed and give God the glory!

Hi Susan,

So glad that you delurked! I didn't get to the meeting inMB so I have never had the honor of meeting you. I noticed in MK's post that she mentioned you live in WV. We get to Wheeling once in awhile to Wheeling Island. We are just about 2 1/2 hours north in central Ohio. If ever you want to come up to Amish Country (Berlin, OH) , let me know. We could plan on a meeting.

Don't be a stranger!

Lori,

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. You're getting married on my Birthday!

Debbie,

I don't get to Wheeling much. I am between Huntington and Charleston. I don't remember what year I went to MB...2000 or 2001? I've never visited the Amish Country. I understand it's wonderful though. If I ever visit, I would love to meet you.

Deb, next time I am going to be in Wheeling for a few days I will be sure to let you know ahead of time. Maybe we can meet there. My brother lives there and that's where my mother is now, too. There is a Hampton Inn right out of Wheeling on I70 which is near my brother's home. We always stay there. My mother is right up the road from the Inn on the way to Bob's, so it is very convenient. Hugs, MK

Susan, thanks for the warm wishes!

And I think we went to MB in 2001 or 2002. 2000 was St Louis, and we did MB twice, but the years are blurring together. I think you were there our second year? Anyway, hope you can keep posting with us again!

MK,

Let me know when you will be Wheeling and we will try and get together.

I think I know just where you are talking about when you mention the Hampton Inn. Is it up on a hill on the left hand side of 70 when you are going toward Wheeling in St. Clairesville?

Hugs,
Deb

Yes that is the one, there is a Bob Evans next door and used to be a Fostoria outlet store there, too. I believe it is the Oglebay exit, route 88. National Road is the street name. My mother's place is up the road about three or four miles and my brother is less than a mile beyond that. We always stay there when we stay in Wheeling. I will let you know. Hugs MK
