I never knew cala lillies came in such beautiful colors until Joyce got pink calas for Shells...I bought 2 to plant in my garden, I just fell in love with them too. Today, Memorial Day, will make a nice day to plant mine in Shelley's honor, just in a place where I can see it every day. When I was buying flats recently, I had started with pink and white when I saw a woman with all orange and hot pink. She said she does a color scheme each year, last year was all purple and orange, another year red and looked so nice, that I decided to do the same. My front will be all pink and white, besides I love it, it is my tribute to us. To those of us carrying on and those who have lost their battles..I've been thinking about how many we've lost recently and it saddens me to no end... I am taking a pensive moment today to remember our fallen sisters....

THey too fought a terrible enemy, a battle and a war, and they gave their lives to it. Similarly to our soldiers fighting for our freedom, I tip my hat and bow my head to them today....

Peace to all-

That was so tastefully written and so heartfelt. I think you have a point there, our fallen angels need to be honored too. Thank you soo much for the letter and the reminder of what today is all about.

Oh that was such a nice post. I was so surprised to see them this year everywhere. Vic and I decided when he finishes the new garden we are also going to plant them. I was thinking of Shells, but white and pink would be a beautiful way to remember all our angels. Thanks so much for the idea. L&H Joyce
How wonderful it would be to see Angels where there are only clouds. How sad it would be to see clouds where there are Angels.

What a great idea, Lori. I have not yet bought bedding plants for my window box. But, I think I will head to the nursery tomorrow for lots of pink flowers and pink impatiens for the shady back yard. I would plant calla lillies, but they don't survive winter in MN. Nice post, my friend. Lauri

Yes, Lori, your post was beautiful with a beautiful idea. I am sorry it took me so long to get around to reading it and posting. I keep a list of all of our wonderful friends who have lost the battle and Jo-Ann and I have talked about getting a special place to put their names. I think all the gardens you have inspired here in their memory is great. Hugs MK

That is a fantastic idea.  It will be beautiful.  I should plan something like that in my garden.  I'll have to figure out where.
