I have a question.  I am estrogen + and I just found out that a lot of fast food places use soy oil to deep fat fry there foods. So if I am not suppose to eat soybean does that include the soy oil they cook food in. I never realized so many places used soy oil. Hope someone know the answer. I would hate to be increasing the chance my cancer will return because I ate out and had french fries.... wondering... skeeter1

Definitely a question for the oncologist or a nutritionist....I avoid extra soy where I can, but not 100%. I don't add it to things, don't seek it out and I don't use soy milk...but I do not look to avoid it where foods have it. I prefer a middle of the road approach, although not sure if it is best. I have a feeling that there will be different answers from different members and from different docs. SHould be interesting to see.

I guess I would ask your onc., but I suspect there is not enough soy in those French fries to worry about. I was estrogen +, too, and my oncologist was not worried about any ingestion of soy products. In fact, I drank soy milk for a few weeks when the tamoxifen hot flashes were the worst. I finished my tamox more than five years ago, and I am still doing fine. But, I would ask. Lauri
