I just checked on her through email.  She asked me to post for her.  She can't type well at all as her right hand and arm are numb due to a tumor that started growing in M  She's on this really state-of-the-art chemo now, cisplatin, alimta and avastin, and it kicks her but, royally, for like two weeks, BUT it's also shrunk the tumor down 50% (thankfully!!).
She says she had a bout with depression and anxiety, but it's gotten better and she does sound better.  I was getting real worried, not having heard from her.  (Last time I heard from her, she was asking if a house was working out, so who knows how long it's been!!!!!!!!)
She can only eat with one hand.  Let's all go and cut her meat for her.  I'm sure her boys are taking good care of her.
Here's her email to me:  figured I'd forward it, so we all can hear from her.  I do miss her cool signature, though.
excuse the typing, i'm using only my left hand.  seems the tumor is still pressing on the brachiapklexis causing my right hand to be numb and therefore useless to me.  it's rough, not cutting meat, blah, blah.  the tumor in my neck started growing in march.  i went into a depression with anxiety, some rough times then.  im better now.  we switched chemo's again, this time to cisplatin, alimta and avastin.  it is a kick ass combo.  knocks me down for about ntwo weeks.  the avastin is one of the new monoclonal antibodies that is supposed to shut the blood supply to the tumor, or not to enable the tumor to form new blood vessels.  all i know is that after one treatment, this has shrunk by about 50%.  i go tomorrow again for chemo.  wish me luck.  you can post to the board for me.  let everyone know i send my love.  but i cant post because of my hand.  thanks for being a friend and asking

Thanks Ellen for updating us on Vicky.  I miss her signatures too.  I do hope she gets better very soon.

Love, hugs and blessing to you Vicky.

Ellen, thanks for the update!

Vicky, I hope you can at least get online to read even if you can't type! I am so sorry you are going through this and sure hoping that the tumor shrinks more and more to allow you to regain use of your hand....your attitude sounds great, hang onto it! I'm glad you're feeling better emotionally as is not unusual to experience that given what you are going good to yourself!

Ellen: Thanks for letting us know how Vicky is doing.

Vicky: I am sorry that you are having a rough time w/ this combo but thank God it is working! Hey, so you can't cut your meat. Heck, consider how you use to eat it as a kid. Pick it up w/ your good hand and take a big bite! lol Glad that you are doing better emotionally. I know how tough it is but I know that you can beat this! We are all here for you.

Lots of prayers and hugs...Deb
