Hi, all.  Getting ready to head out to Missouri for a long weekend to see my mom (step-mom, for those of you who know me, but I claim her as my "second mom").  She has not been well recently.  Had an angioplasty on her renal artery...stenosis was causing her blood pressure to go crazy.  I'm hoping to find her in excellent health by now, but she was very stressed  by the whole thing.

An extended family reunion is planned for Saturday, and if those of you who know me can imagine it, a churchgoing event is scheduled for the evening.

I've been thinking about Cathi a lot lately...how is our girl doing, anyway?  Been awhile since we've had an update.

Alll my recent scans and tests have gone well...Ellen, I still haven't scheduled that darned appointment!  Have you???  My brother's PSA has recently started elevating, which is disturbing, but doctors say it is okay for now.  Hoping that trend reverses or stabilizes soon, or we may be in trouble again.

Anyway, hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.

May fireworks ever thrill you,

Hey, Bev, great to hear from you. Sounds like your life is busy. Isn't that always the way it goes. We are heading to our Iowa house for the Fourth. Sarah, Jason and the grandchildren are coming from Indiana. Grandson Luke will be baptized on Sunday, July 2, at the same church were his mom was baptized in 1974 when we lived in Ohio. DH's parents belonged to the church, so it was a convenient place to have her christened since the family could all get there. Same goes with Luke. My mother and Jason's parents will come down, as they always do, for the holiday weekend. We have a 103-year-old christening gown that Luke will wear. He and Melanie are the fifth generation to wear the gown for thei baptism. DH's sister and her hubby will stand in for the godparents who are in New Jersey (godmother) and on a ship somewhere at sea (godfather). This will be kind of nice since SIL and her husband were Sarah's godparents.

We will have a little open house lunch after church on Sunday (food is ordered from the grocery store deli), then celebrate Melanie's 3rd birthday (a month early) on Monday with a family and friends pot luck supper on Tuesday. Then everyone goes out on the curb in front of the house to watch fireworks shot off two blocks away. Awesome seats. It is going to be a busy few days. Hope I survive.

Glad to know that your tests and scans have been normal. I head in to see a pcp on July 13 for routine exam and mammogram. Other than horrid arthritis in my knees and hips, everything seems to be fine. You have a great weekend. Hugs, Lauri

Uh.....there's a flood, is that a good excuse????

My mom's on me too.  I need to call.

OK, I just called,  The PA's gonna call me back and tell me what I need to schedule.  It's all your fault if they tell me I have cancer again, you know.  All you have to do is not go to the doctor, and you'd never be told..............

Don't try this at home, ladies
