Sorry I've been missing in action, but things have been just one thing after the other with me.  After getting back from Japan, I got the flu, which decided to go into my joints.  I felt like a 90 year old woman with severe arthritis.  I was in so much pain, I could hardly move.  I had to call in sick 2 days and that is not like me.  This was just a week before my sister was to come visit from Ohio.  Needless to say, I was upset that I would be sick when she was here.  Well, thank goodness, I got better and we had a great, but short, visit.  She got to meet my plastic surgeon and just fell in love with him.  She kept saying how good I look.  LOL  I took her to an Oktoberfest, Farmer's Market/The Grove (a very nice shopping area), had a party so she could meet all my friends, and just visited.  Last time she was here was in between lumpectomy/mastectomy.

Now, I have a skin infection.  It started when I pulled a piece of skin on my cuticle and it got infected.  No big deal - it's happened before.  Well, I think my immune system was still not up to par and it got out of hand.  The skin just above the nail got red/*****/swollen and hurt like he__.  Then my lymph node in my neck on that side got very big.  I also had a bite on my leg that got blistered.  I was beginning to feel flu-like.  To top that off, I had a yeast infection, too.  I was just one big infected woman!  LOL  I am now on mega antibiotics and it's all gotten better.  This was all on the side I had the cancer/lymph nodes removed, so I was worried about lympedema, but my doctor said it wasn't that.  I haven't had any problems with that so far.

I am seriously hoping this is it for the medical problems.  I am so tired of not being myself!!!  I just want to be normal!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot, I went to a specialty shop to get fitted for a bra and was very upset to find out, according to her, that I will still need to wear a partial prosthesis.  Now, that is not why I went through all these surgeries and pain to hear that I still need one of those things!!!  I cried!  I'm looking for alternatives.  Any suggestions???  I did go public (grocery shopping) this past weekend without a bra and it wasn't too bad, except for the nipple irritation.

OK, that's enough for me babbling.  I will try to be around more.

L & H,
Kathy
