It has been some time since I posted here. I usually just pop in now and then to see how everyone is doing.
Well, this time I could use your prayes and advice.
I had my usual 6 month CT scan done in September. I am 3 years from diagnosis. It found a nodule on my thyroid and a cyst on my ovary. I had both ultrasounded. My ovarian cyst was smaller on the ultrasound than on the CT scan, most likely because I had my period the week of the ultrasound. I also had a CA-125 blood test to rule out ovarian cancer. I had it rechecked this past week. It has not grown, but it has not gone away either. They found it to be complex so I will most likely have it and my right ovary removed.
My thyroid is a different case. I was told I could wait and see on it, but I chose to have it biopsied last week. It came back as positive for papillary cancer. All they can figure is that my radiation from breast cancer could have caused it. I can't find any real link between the two. The only link I find is a higher risk for breast cancer if you have had thyroid cancer.
So, I will be scheduling surgery soon for both. I keep you all in my prayers always and hope you can do the same for me!
