I was wondering how you all did thru the ice storms? I haven't seen any posts so was wondering if you lost power? We were lucky here and didn't lose our power but all of the surrounding towns have as well as Springfield and St. Louis. Just have lots and lots of ice. The grandkids went ice skating on our driveway and yard today. I can remember when my dd's did the same thing. Have video's of both.

Hope that you both are ok and everyone else that was in the line of this storm. For those of you on the East coast, take care.

I'm fine. We are iced in for the most part. Luckily, DH was off for 4 day shift turn around and didn't have to drive that long way to work. He did manage to get to the other house yesterday to check on things. I am here covered up with boxes to unpack yet and stuff to figure out and arrange. My DGD who was such a big help went to Milwaukee to be with her father while he is waiting to have surgery for a thyroid cancer. She'll be back next week and will come and help me some more then. His cancer is in early stages and should be ok, but she wanted to be with him. She's a wonderful young lady.

I have been keeping track of the board several times a day, just not taking time to post because I really have little to add. You all are so much more knowledgeable to help newbies than I am. But I am behind you 100% and keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs MK

I'm here, too. We didn't get anywhere near what MK had. We iced up mostly at night until Sunday night/Mon then the ice was a problem. I had grandchildren most of the time. We even managed to get out early Sunday and make the annual train show. Too bad for my purse, though.

It's still icy on the north side of my house, icicles hanging from my car that a trip to town didn't break down. The worst thing here on the open plains is this cold wind. I am freezing, even with the heat on and that's so unusual for me.

I am hoping anyone else getting this stuff will have it as I did. Not really much of a problem at all.

Love, Jo-Ann

Glad to hear from the 2 of you. Esp glad to know that you all didn't lose power. Jo-Ann, I have had the heat up plus a fire in my fireplace and can't seem to stay warm. Like you, very unusual for me. My granddaughters complain that I freeze them out. We are still having below 0 temps and some pretty cold winds. Hoping that this bunch of ice melts before the next storm hits this weekend.

Stay warm and please stay inside. Lots of people around this area w/ broken bones.

Warm hugs...Deb

I am also to see the two of you check in. I was wondering how you were doing down there with the ice. Hope it all melts soon. It's 17 degrees here this evening, much better than last night when it dropped below zero. Most roads are in good shape, but there are lots of slippery places in parking lots and local residential streets. I am wondering how my sister in Lewisville is doing. Hope she and her DSs are all right. Stay safe, ladies. Hugs, Lauri
