and buying them on eBay.  I brought some to Louisville as gifts.  I just have to share this with you.  In half an hour one of the hardest to find is bidding out on eBay and the bid right now is at $430.  Check it out.  Remember I said one of the rarest............

Heavens no I was not in on the bidding. I already got one several years ago, and it was the last one to complete my collection. I paid around $60 for mine. I had only seen that one until this one was put up for bid. I was astonished at the price it brought. The originally sold for $40. There are still a few available in gift shops but Rubel quit making them about three years ago and some are more rare than others. I think Greta is the hardest to find. A Bargain Shopper angel sold for $278 last week. The ones I brought to LV were Flora Sweet which Libby got and Alice Goody the Nurse and I don't remember who got her. I watch as they are listed and when the sell well print the results for my kids to know the value in the future. LOL My way of investing????? DH thought I was nuts buying these angels but I think he is beginning to think maybe I wasn't quite as nuts as he thought. LOL.

Wow MK,

How interesting!  You must have known what you were doing when you purchased those.

I love the one that you gave me, it is always sitting out here on my hutch.  Mine was by Tom Rubel also, it is the "Keys to the Golden Gates" angel and I just adore it.

Hugs and Love,
Debbie

No, I really didn't know what I was doing, I simply liked them and wanted them. The more of them I saw, the more I had to have. I have the full collection of the "Retired Angels" And I think I have all the Heavenly Angels like you have, Deb. They are not quite gaining value as rapidly as the old ladies and men. They are fun to watch on eBay, tho. Another Ms. Penny Saver went for $255.03 the other day. Ms Alice Goody the nurse is listed at $250 beginning or buy it now, but I don't think she is as scarce as to bring that yet. Will keep you up dated. LOL. MK
