Hey,

I was just going thru some of the previous posts and read that you had been having disc problems again along with shoulder pain. Just  wondering how you are feeling?  Hope you are feeling much better.

Thinking of you,

Doing okay, thanks.  I'm in physical therapy three days a week, and that is helping lots.  Good PT's are hard to come by, but when you find a good one, it makes a world of difference.  I'm beginning to feel human again, have gone back to work, and hanging in there.

This weekend will be a challenge.  Driving to MO for my brother's wedding on Saturday.  We're breaking up the drive to two days, but 5 hours in the car will still be a lot.  But I wouldn't miss this for the world!

Don't know if you remember, but my brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years back.  He had just recently been divorced after 20-some years of marriage, and had just gotten a new girl he was crazy about when the big "C" hit.  Donna saw him through the whole ordeal, and they are now officially tying the knot.  I know we joke that if brca were a predominantly male disease, there would already be a cure.  Well, prostate cancer is no picnic, either.  Incontinence, impotence, etc...

So I am very happy that this wedding is taking place.  It has not been what you call an "easy courtship!"  So say an extra prayer for them this weekend, or send well-wishes if you don't say prayers!  Poor Donna doesn't know what she's gettin' in to, I'm afraid!  LOL

Love and hugs...

Bev,

Give your brother and Donna my best.

Have one suggestion for your back on the trip...make sure that you move your seat around in different positions if it will allow you to do that.  It helps me when we travel to recline the back and move the seat to different positions.

Enjoy the wedding and the trip!

Hugs,
Debbie
PS. So glad that the PT are doing a great job with you.

Bev, it is so nice to hear he had a wonderful woman to see him through this. I had to see onc. yesterday and all I heard was stories about rats leaving the ship. Its so nice when you read about people that hang in there. I hope all goes well for your trip. Don't forget to stop and get out of the car every now and then. One question, do you have to sit on what I called the "Time out Ball"? I swear they stuck me on that whenever I started to have a good time. My PT was of the opinion, a laughing person needed more adjusting than just bones.
Love and hugs, Joyce

Joyce, you are just too funny. So far, I have been spared the "time out ball." However, I made the mistake of telling Rob that I woke up, got out of bed, had a cup of coffee, and told my husband that my back actually felt pretty decent today. So. Fpr the mistake of being truthful, I will be paying with the "time out ball" soon. I've been doing some floor work, and then I've been getting the most fabulous neck massages. I feel two inches taller when I leave that place. So at the end of our visit today, he says, "Well, I guess since you are doing so much better, it's time to start making you work." And we both know that means the time out ball, or worse...the dreaded torture device known as the "Pilates machine." I'll take the time out ball over that thing any old day! I am tempted to tell him that I am going to rip his rectus abdominis muscles at the groin, tunnel them up over his rib cage, tuck them up under his armpit, and then we'll talk about this "core stability" thing. Alas, I must admit, it helps a lot. The ball is my friend. The ball is my friend. The ball is my friend. If I say it often enough, someday I might believe it. I hug the darn thing about three times a week as it is. I think we're just going to be moving our relationship to a new level of intimacy. Can't wait.

Love and hugs...
