I hope you guys aren't getting tired of me.  I just need some support over the next few days here, so I figured the best thing to do for me is to give updates, and get your thoughts.

So, Heidi got her period today.  It is a few days earlier than she expected, but that isn't abnormal for her.  It is normal so far, nothing out of the ordinary.   Her chest is still feeling sore, but today, the lump appears to be GONE.  How odd is this?  She said it was there this morning, and still feeling about the same as it was since she found it.  Well, now she called and said that she was feeling sore, so she iced it for a while, and that after icing it and just going on with normal activity in her day, it is not feeling like it's there anymore.   That is what I was telling you guys in my first post...she says there are times she can't feel it.   She says her chest is still feeling sore though.

Does this sound like anything anyone has ever heard of?  She told me that maybe now she can skip the doctor, and I told her NO NO NO.  I told her she should still go and get it looked at.  There is no reason to cancel now.  That is my opinion anyway.

My biggest confusion is what could cause a lump to come and go and cause all this chest soreness.  If anyone has ever heard of anything like this, I would appriciate some information on that...not to use as a diagnosis, of course!!!

Anyway, here goes another day...again, thanks for listening.  You are a great group of girls!!!

I can't really answer your question.  I just wanted to say you are not annoying!  This is what we are here for.  Don't worry about asking too many questions.  There is no such thing.  Hopefully, someone will be able to help you with this issue.  And by all means, don't let your friend cancel her appt.  The only way to know for sure is to get it checked.
L & H,
Kathy

Thank you babyseester! And yes, I told her NOT to cancel! The appointment is made, and eventhought hte lump feels like it's gone, I still think going couldn't hurt. I am talking her into still going! I think I convinced her to go!

Thanks Kathy!

Not being a Dr. I can't say what the lump is but cancerous lumps usually do not hurt.  They are hard and don't move around.  It could be a cyst that moves and hurts her.  This happened to me in 1997. I went to the Dr. and it turned out to be nothing.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 from a routine mammogram.  I had a biopsy which showed is was invasive ductile carcinoma and I had surgery and radiation, two sentinel lymph nodes removed but not cancerous.  I am on an anti cancer drug for five years.  The worst thing to do is not see a Dr. as you never know what it could be.  I hope your friend will make the appt. and have some peace of mind. It is better to be safe and go for tests than let something go and have it become a big problem.  I hope I have helped some.  By the way,  my Oncologist says I am curable so early detection is the best.
