I am 7 years out from stage 2 diagnosis.  Had bilateral mast. with silicone implants.  I have been having pain in the breast area where my original tumor was for 9 months.  I have been having pain in my upper right abdomen for 1.5 years.  I have had a couple ultrasounds of the abdomen that have come back fine as well as chest x-ray which was ok.  I finally pushed for a CT scan of the chest as the pain was really bothering me when I layed down at night.  CT scan came back with "nodularity around implant" - I am having an MRI in less than 2 weeks.  Surgeon thinks may be scar tissue as he can palpate a lump.  The CT scan also showed a lesion in my liver 12 mm and in my spleen 13mm.  Surgeon also said he thought it was likely they were benign but couldn't say for sure.  Oncologist has me going for abd. CT scan at the end of the month to compare.  So I would like to believe the assurances but what are the odds I would have all three of these things show up and have them all be benign.  Do you think there are other tests I should be requesting.  This is the first time I saw this new onc. and he basically said it didn't matter if we waited to see if it was mets because it wouldn't make a difference if I did anything about now or later.  I don't really think that is right but it took a LOT of work to even get into see this dr.  I have been fighting my insurance, my GP, and others to try to get testing.  What do you think?  SHould I be doing something else?  Does this sound like mets?  Thanks for any input you give!  Tammy

Tammy, I really don't have an answer for you. I wish I did, sweetie, but I think you are right for pushing these tests. If you could get a pet scan, I would think it couldn't hurt and might just be able to make a definate decision on what these things are. Please keep in touch and let us know how it goes.
