Hello everyone
I'm new here and I was just diagnosed with cfs after going through a bunch of tests to rule out other things. I'm still not even sure if its what I have.
Anyway my doctor and some other people I know are encouraging me to join a support group so I'm giving it a try. I'm going to be 21 next week and I have no energy to do anything I push myself to go to school fulltime and work part time. Its very difficult to concentrate and remember things. I don't know what else I am supposed to say but hello and I will probably be on here a lot because I don't feel comfortable telling most of the people I'm close to about this.
I don't know how this message board works but I want to hear from other people that are going through this so if anyone wants to email me or something it is in my profile.
Have a good day

Hi snoog and welcome. I'm really sorry to hear that you have CFS - it can be really hard to deal with. I was about your age when I was diagnosed with CFS after feeling like I never recovered from a bad case of mono I had when I was 18. Fortunately my CFS went into remission for quite a few years once I was in my late twenties and through most of my 30's. Every once in a while I would crash, but if I listened to my body I did pretty well. Then in my late 30's I got sick again and ended up having lupus on top of the cfs.

I wish the CFS forum was a little more active. We don't have a lot of people posting right now in this forum so you might not get a lot of responses. Let me know if you have any questions and also know you can come here and vent if you are going through a rough time.
Diagnosis:  UCTD (lupus) 2006; Raynauds 2006; Sjogren's 2006; lupus symptoms began 2003; CFS 1991; Mono 1985
Meds:  Plaquenil 400mg; Prednisone 5-10mg; Tramadol 100mg 3-4x daily; Doxepin 25-50mg; Prevacid; Evoxac; Steriod Cream and Mouth Rinse for tongue and mouth ulcers; Hydrocodone 5/500 prn for severe pain; Artificial tears
