I have had CFS off and on for a number of years. I do fairly well keeping it at bay when my anxiety levels are down...
I was wondering if any of you have any bowel related problems with your CFS... Sometimes I get dead tired after a bm... (even with no straining) ...other times not.
Sometimes a terrible tidal wave of dead tiredness hits me out of the blue and those are the worst. I'm used to being fairly pep-less.
Also, could there be a connection between mild bowel pain in lower part of abdomen to CFS? I know this may sound strange but it worries me.
Hope all of this makes sense... just mentally wiped out. (thank you everybody)
I hope your wknd is going well.

I am sorry, but I have never noticed this. But everyone has different things that happen in their illnesses. Hope u figure it out.

Bettsann,
I know this is an old post but yes, I think there can be a connection for some people. I've had chronic fatigue for many years, as well as some digestion problems (abdominal pain, C/D, lower right ab bulges out). Finally about 6 months ago I started trying to solve the problem after years of just dealing with it. First few docs were worthless, tests were normal, tried tons of supplements/diet changes to no avail.

Finally went to a gastro. Turns out my colon has been inflamed, pseudopolyps formed and everything. So yes I think the chronic fatigue has been bowel related in my case: inflammation has been draining my energy plus interfering with nutrient absorption. Doc prescribed anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatories and probiotics, so we'll see if that does it.

Hi Sul1985! Oh goodness, don't worry about it being an old post. Still happy to get it and receive it...! I so hope your new regimen will work well for you!
I am currently having a 'good spell' in which I do not have that instant dead tiredness after a bm.... always thankful for those. I've been taking an herb called Ashwaghanda and it seems to really help!
Continued good luck to you!!

Hi Bettsann, I have had CFS for probably about 20 years also. I have had periodic digestive
issues over that time. I also have Lyme so some of my symptoms may no doubt be different, and like
littlemama says everyone has different things that happen to them with this illness.
I have not been to a gastro doctor. It was when I stopped eating gluten that many of my
symptoms went away. I also took medicines for parasites and candida. I had severe heart burn
which I no longer have because I have cleaned up my diet. I don't eat processed foods for the
most part.
I don't know if this is a help to you or not. I'm glad you're getting a reprieve time.
I just wanted to say, most definitely, GI problems can come up.
