I am having trouble understanding my results for HHV 6. My test was done at LabCorp and my IgG test results were 10.20

Neg = less than .76

Equivocal = 0.76-0.99

Positive = more than 0.99

I have never seen this type of rating but it is quite high. What I don't understand is that my DR. says that IgG Antibodies just show that you have had an active infection. Of course I have. Everyone has had Roseola!

Also my EBV ab VCA IgG came back high at 221.0 with positive being more than 21.9. But same problem, it only shows that I have had an infection. This time they also tested the IgM and it came back Equivcal, whatever that means. I need to look it up.

I have been dealing with extreme fatigue for years. 7 years ago I was tested and my IgG titers came back 1:1280 and the dr. I had then said it just showed that I had had a active infection but it was gone. I was not tested at that time for the EBV. I am also bipolar and so he always contributed every symptom I have ever had to that. So frustrating. With a "mental illness" you no are no longer a person, you are a disease.

My current Dr. did diagnose me with chronic fatigue but even she doesn't seem to understand this. She says the medication for this is antidepressants. Of course I am already on antidepressants so she doesn't know what else to do for it except she says I need to tell my daughter that I shouldn't babysit my granddaughter. Right! Let's take the only sunshine I have out of my life. It is hard, really really hard and I will tell them I can't do it everyday. When she was younger I slept when she slept. But she is 1 and walking and the naps are a lot shorter and I really do burn out. Can anyone give me a little help understanding all this. What type of dr. should I see for this issue?

Sorry this is so long but my head is spinning.

Thank you for any help.

I have read that if your IGG is significantly higher, like 3 or 4 times the positive range, then it's significant. I would find a doctor willing to prescribe an antiviral to see if that helps. Or, you could try something natural like lauricidin or monolaurin (coconut oil), olive leaf extract or l-lysine. I have tried most and currently on anti-viral. Fatigue is much better and my lymph nodes which have always been swollen are going down.

k07, thank you for your input. I am going to look into the natural stuff. I also have a call into my niece to see if I can get into her dr. as she is being treated for cfs.
