I am 14 years old with panic/anxiety disorder. I also show significant depression symptoms. I have nothing to be depressed about because life is actually going great.
But I am always tired. All the time. I cannot find a reason for the depression but I am wondering If this is what's causing my extremely bad fatique.

Drew, that's a good question. It's really hard sometimes to separate depression from fatigue and which one might be causing which. For me, it's usually my fatigue that causes me to feel depressed because I can't physically do the things I normally enjoy. A lot of times people who have chronic fatigue end up depressed. On the other hand, people who have depression can also feel tired a lot. However, if your fatigue is something fairly new or you are not sure if it's related to your depression you should really go to your family doctor and get a complete physical with some blood tests to rule out any medical problems that might be causing your fatigue. I work in a mental health office and I know that our psychiatrist often orders labs for for people who are depressed to make sure their thyroid is okay and that their blood count is normal. They are especially careful with teenagers to make sure there is not an underlying medical problem. It's defintely worth talking to your parents to see if they can help you get a doctor's appointment set up.

Take care and let me know if you have any other questions.

My sister finds it hard to get up in the mornings, we don't push her, but we encourage her and now she's feeling so much better with help from us.

Me and my dad are always fighting over her (when she aint there!!) because he strongly believes that there is no such thing as CFS!! My sister hates to know that we fight because we don't see dad that much, and i know deep down inside she cares, no matter how much she says she hates me. I know that us fighting drains her, so instead i printed off some really good information and am planning to go through it with dad to see if it can change his mind.

Anyways, if people encourage you, i know you will feel so much better!

Thanks

Yvee x

P.S Hope you feel bit better soon!!
