Many people have been telling me to read this book. "From fatigued, to Fantastic". I just thought it was another book that wouldn't help me.

Well, tonight I'm in a book store and on a whim, my eye catches this title. We were just about to leave when I told me wife... hold on. Something made me read it, not sure what.

I'm reading this book and he's talking about how adrenal insuffiency can cause fatigue. He also starts saying that doctors shouldn't not treat their patients with hormonal replacements just because their tests seem normal or just a tad under the marker. He goes on to quote Dr. Jefferies book on Cortisol and talks about things that have been mentioned before in Dr. Wilsons book. He's a firm believer that Cortef helps people with adrenal issues and that it could change their life.

Why am I talking about this? I just so happens that this doctors practice in 20 minute from my house. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) yeah

Here is his website : https://www.endfatigue.com/home.nsf

Just thought I would let you all know. I'm making an appt come tuesday. This is my ticket :-)

Thanks HM2!

You know, it really did brighten up my holidays. Just when I thought this wasn't going to change, something came a long and gave me a nudge.

I too can't believe this guy is so close. I'll know on Tuesday, I hope it doesn't take 3 month to get in.

The only other thing I'm questioning still is, does he take insurance. Even if he doesn't, it will be worth the 1-2 visits.

I guess I'm cursed!!!

I called this doctors office today to make an appt, only to find out that he packed his practice up in Oct and moved to Hawaii.

Now I really wish I would have known... sooner.

Looks like I'm back to the drawing board.

Aww....Hawaii!? It's seems that the good docs get criticized so much about this hormone stuff that the move away. :(

I'm not sure about hydrocortisone. One of my book says that it's should only be used to boost adrenal...and another book(Wilson Thyroid Syndrome The Reversible Thyroid Problem) says that thryoid harmones is enough...but you must take high doses of B5 and B6 etc.

So....you see why I get so overwhelmed. Still, I'm glad that I've read more than one book, because I've learned a lot...Which helps me communicate with my doctor.

I have adrenal fatique(or one of the many names that is called), low progesterone level and hypothyroidism(tissue resistance to thyroid hormones).

Meds: Armour Thyroid, ProGest, Hydrocortisone, and lots of supplements in addition to my multi-vitamins.

Hmmm....... could a vacation to Hawaii be in your future (lol)? I wonder if he is even still practicing or if he has made enough money to kick back and retire.

Well, hopefully the internal medicine doctor will be willing to help you.

Na, it says on this site that his practices are in Maryland and Hawaii.  I don't know why they're still saying that though...

Yeah, I hope so too :(

Well, there may be hope yet, if this doctor in 3 weeks cannot help me.

I just found out that there are Fibro and Fatigue centers in PA.  It's a 2 hour drive for me, but it would be worth it.

I'm trying to find out if they except insurance.  I did find out that they're following Dr. Teitelbaums protocols and procedures for diagnosising and treat fatigue, so it would be just as well that I go here.

I'm still waiting to hear back if they except insurance.

Well, I gave the Fibro and Fatigue Center a call.  The closest one too me is in PA, which is a 121 mile (2 hour drive).

The first 2 visits are $360 for each, and another visit after that for $180.  They do a lot of blood work first to rule a lot of stuff out.

So, right there, that's $900 out of pocket just to see what's going on, probably labs that have already been run to tell me that it's all normal.  Now, would it be worth it then to be placed onto something that might work?  I don't know.

I'm going to hold out on this for now.  This is very expensive, not to mention the price of gas, and taking the day off from work to do this.

Hopefully my appt with my new PCP (who believe in attacking symptoms Vs. the reason behind it) on the 16th will help me.
