I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be gone at least this Friday through Sunday, and maybe longer.  My grandmother has been very ill and is dying.  She's an amazing woman who just had her 95th b-day yesterday.  Luckily we've gotten to spend some time with her prior to this.  She and my 5 yr old daughter are really close and attached, so it has been hard on my daughter.

I'm guessing she'll pass away today or tomorrow, so we're going to travel there on Friday and help get things ready for the funeral, etc and give my mom some support.  I'm guessing the funeral will probably be this weekend, unless she surprises us and hangs on.

I think the hotel we're staying at has high speed internet, but I don't know that I'll have time to get on my laptop or not.  I hope everyone has as good a weekend as possible.  Take care everyone.

Take care hippimom, and don't worry about us here, you just take care of yourself and your family. All our love and best wishes as you go through this time of saying goodbye to someone you love. I hope it is a peaceful and comfortable passing.

Hi. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back. I'm completely exhausted and in lots of pain, but it's good to be home. My grandma passed away Saturday afternoon while my kids and I were taking care of her, but it was a very peaceful passing and my kids were very prepared for what would happen and what it would be like. It was really an honor to get to help my grandma and to help her return home for her final days.

Now, I'm going to sleep for several days.

Welcome Back, Hippimom2. I wish we could all pass so peacefully, surrounded by those we love and who love us. I am glad you could be there for your grandmother, and that your children were able to share that experience with you. In these coming days, please take care of yourself, get some rest, and take time to hold the memories of your grandmother you hold dear. When someone close passes I know it also makes one think about one's own life slightly differently, and the times we share with those still here come to have special meaning too. Revel in that, as it is a gift. Big hugs, friend.
