Hi Bob, I did a google on this and came up with this, its a test used when specifically looking for a certain drug, so it looks like your guy is shooting straight from the hip. Hope this makes you feel better. Susie

Hi Bob,

That refers to the type of test/machines they use. Here's some samples I found online that many of the labs use. Hope this helps.

ICP-MS - Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometry (chemical analysis)-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

I've been researching gcms since I got an email from webmd (great site) that oxycodone doesn't always show up and also an article that says 10% of lab tests are wrong. cheesh! So I'm going to ASK for these two tests if I ever fail a test...and ask in ADVANCE my gp said. That way you are safe! unless you have something to hide like illegal drugs or not taking your oxycodone or like that...so BE GLAD you have a caring doctor! Alot of docs DROP/FIRE patients once a failed drug test happens instead of trying to find out the TRUTH! There are no laws that they HAVE to give you these tests. Too bad! Am I allowed to ask what state you live in? You can msg me if you want to say. Then if it's in my state and I ever DO get dumped maybe I'll have some place to go that cares about the truth. I BELIEVE my doc will...but don't know yet...have to ask first.
Thanks chutz (former moderator) and LUCKY BOB!!!! So glad you have a caring doctor! I think I do too...sure hope so! :)

Hello Lynneann!

You happened on a post that was started way back in 2008…and Bob1344 is no longer with us here. I will lock this thread for this reason, but members will still be able to read only as it may help them with information on this topic. And Chutz is a current Moderator, but has been off on medical leave for a while. She has plans to be back soon!
