yeah   lol that smilie is cute! Hi everyone, I am new around here, I came across the forum after looking up some information. I have been diagnosed with fibro and chronic pain and I am about at my wits end! Right now I am pretty much stuck in the middle of my pain journey due to being 27 weeks pregnant. I try and only take any pain meds and really needed  (those days where even breathing seems to hurt your entire body) and also have been doing acupuncture. I really hope I can get some good info and new great ways to help with my pain, it seems the bigger I get the worse I feel, espically in the back/hip areas.

Welcome ArmyMPwife, and judging by your name, thanks are in order to your husband for his service. :-) Chronic pain of any type involves treatment from many different directions. The answer is not to be found in a bottle of narcotics only. In the end, the quality of your life is up to you and your mental state. It takes not only medication, but a fair amount of psychotherapy to learn how to deal with chronic pain. If your doctor has ever brought up therapy with a psychologist - do it! As you probably already know, there are days when no pain pill will get you out of a pain crisis. That's where the "mind games" come in to play. Anything you can do to distract yourself from your pain will be beneficial. Keep on reading here. You never know when someone will have an idea that works for you. :-)

Hi and welcome!! We have many gals with fibro and cp who are members and can give you tips on staying more comfortable thru pregnancy. Often the hormones released during pregnancy relieve much of the fibro pain, but even if it does it will come back several weeks after birth.

Keep lots of heat packs around so they're ready when you need them, treat yourself to very warm baths/showers/ and make sure you take time to relax for a while each day. For you AND for baby.

Hugs,
Chutzie
