Hello everyone. As you can see by my subject I have really screwed up, or should I say screwed my poor old sick back up even more.

I took a nasty fall Sat. night and fell in a sitting position and rolled back and hit my head on the closet door. I nearly rang my bell on that one, I fought hard to stay conscious. But the head part is the least of my problems, my back is totally killing me and my pain feels like its all internal, does that make sense. If I even breathe the wrong way the pain is blinding. I have a pain pump implanted and its working ok, thank goodness I didn't mess that up. I have alot of pain at waist level. Sitting is a killer unless I have a pillow behind me so I can brace against it. I am staying about half sick at my stomach from the pain. I am taking Dilaudid 2mg every 4 hrs plus my muscle relaxer. My pain mgt dr is 30 miles away and there is no way I can sit in a car to ride that far. That ride really gets me w/o these added troubles. I have heard its gotta get worse before it gets better, well lets hope I am almost there.  I have a very high pain tolerance but this one has brought me to my knees. Thanks for letting me whine. Susie

Straydog, you still may want to see a doctor even if its not your pm dr. It sounds like you really hurt yourself and should be checked out just in case. If nothing else you might have a concussion or pulled muscles, etc...

I agree with cookie. I think it warrants a visit to the ER - or at the very least a call to them. You might have new injuries in a variety of places. You don't want to make something worse by ignoring it.

Susie, I agree bigtime with the aboove. This may be something serious and unrelated to reg pain issues. I know that alot of us, me included, are used to pain, but this sounds like something entirely diff. You need to see a doc or hosp right away kiddo!

Stray- I'm so sorry to hear that you fell and hurt yourself. Have you gine to the ER yet. Beisdes the back pain, if you hit you head you should really get in there asap especially if you taking your pain meds. Concusions dont always feel like something is wrong.
It will put your mind at ease and they may be able to do something else to ease the pain if nothing else is internally wrong. But of you can feel pain internally insread of just the bone or muscle pain then you should really get it checked(I think thats what you ment by internally/)
I hope you are feeling better

Hi Susie,

Please, as the others have said, don't ignore this and try to manage it yourself Pain tells us something is wrong. You must get it looked at. Delaying can cause more damage so get right on this...ok?

Thanks for the replies guys. I am still toughing it out. I keep hoping every day will get better, right. I have my pump refill on Tues so I will tell my nurse what is going on. I also have Remicade scheduled on Wed so next week will really be rough. Riding 60 miles round trip is very hard on me on a good day.

I opted to not go to any of the ER's here because they realy treat people like crap that go in with pain. I know what happened to me with a migraine and I do not have a history at all of going to er for pain. Its been a very hard long week to say the least. Hugs to all, Susie

Oh, Susie, I'm so sorry that you've had such terrible experiences at the ER. I've gone in with migraine and also with pain flares before and they've treated me very well - better, I think, than my regular docs. I hope you are able to get some relief soon and that your pump refill nurse will take good care of you.

(((hugs)))
