Mike I dont see why you cant but also dont see why you would as they basically have the same actions as one another and also an opiate with addictive properties.

With saying that they both have to be weaned off or you will have w/ds from either.

All you need to do on the methadone is a very slow taper and I know slow isnt what you wanted to hear and I do mean slow if you wish not to suffer any w/d.

The same with SubX,you have to go a slow taper.

Not knowing what dose your currently on I cant say for sure what would be a starting and stopping point but rule of thumb with methadone is to drop 5 MGS a week for 2 weeks and then continue that til your down to only 5mgs a day and then go to everyother day and then every 3rd and then you should be able to come off with anything more then the pain left. Like I said it is slow going and you have to have the mindset and be ready for going off.

Will you still miss the drug? of course but with this slow of a taper it will be what is left of the psychological thinking you need it noit so much the misery of the missing it physically.

I wish you alot of luck and if this is what your going to do then set your sights on the future and what your goal is dont let anything get in your way.

Here is the add on for you and as I read it you went from 150mgs of methadone to 15mgs at a clinic and now they dont want to take you the rest of the way off as they will then lose you as a client and of course your money with you is this right?

YOu dont feel you have enough pain anylonger or whatever to warrant being there and your tired of spending that much money on that much methadone a day corrent?

If I am following you the same answer I gave you still applies and as you should already know the slower the taper the less degree of w/d symptoms your going to have.

SubX is an opiate like I said not much different in its make-up them methadone but more powerful in mgs meaning you take less Sub then Methadone but you WILL feel the w/ds from it when you stop it.

So I would just continue the taper off methadone with or without the clinics help. and not add another med to the mix myself.

ive been onmethadone for three years.I have recently moved to puerto rico.i came with two weeks worth.im at the highest phase you can get inthe program where iwas .i gradually brought myself down to 50 mg before i left the u.s .But im tire of the money being spent onthe meds and im in the right place in my life to quit.i took the two weeks and lowered myself down over the course of a month and one week when i ran out iwas about at 15mg my withdrawels are still very tough .i do not want to go to any kind of long term program. the reason iasked if a doctor can prescribe enough suboxone for me to make through the last few weeks .would aweek of suboxone enough to get me hooked on it . i know originally methadone was prescibed just long enough to fight the withdrawels before there were maintanance programs.I am close to making it. i could just use that little bit of help.write back if anyone hs heard of doctors using it in this manner.       thanks mike

I turned two a two week supply into one month and a week dividing the bottles int specific measurements but iran out when i got to 15 mgs.Thats why i wanted to know if doctors prescibe it in this manner (sub) because i was tring t make just long. enough to lighten the wds.im stillnot feeling great but i can definetly say im gonna make it.thanks for your insight answer me back about the supplements
