My husband's Urologist is being sued for something. He read it on the internet.
How do we find out just what he's being sued for? It's kinda scary. He's
my Urologist too.

Hi Pam: Last time i checked law suits are public records. You could contact the clerk in the county of where You live however the person filing a claim may have filed the complaint in another County or may have filed the complaint in Federal Court. It's according in same states where the incident happened ( Dr office or hospital ) or where the person who filed the complaint lives.
I would try first using Google and see if someone put the suit on the net, then  try Your County Clerk and they should be able to give You all the information you require to secure a copy of the suit. There are companies that charge for this information but i would beware of them. Good luck tom

Tom ...
Thank you. I will pass this information on to my DH and he can go about the
search.
He didn't believe me when I told him, "I'll ask my friends on the CP Board and
they will have an answer for me.
What a place. Huh?
Pamela
P.S. Are you going to the beach party on the eerie lake?

Now Tom ...
We won't be writin' anything at the Virtual Beach Party.
You could start with ... hmmmm.... virtually, what will you wear?
I will tell you the surprise in my basket.
Ready:
It's a 6 layer coconut cake. Thick, thick frosting. Lots of coconut.
ooooooooh .... I wish I had one now. Never have seen a six layer... but this is
virtual.
The more cake you eat the more weight you lose and the healtier you become.
I've never seen me in a tiny bikini top and a sarong skirt.
From my castle window overlooking the eerie lake,
Pam
I may send virtual invitations to my castle for a party. It will be a byod party. (Bring your
own desert) Maybe. After you need to rest from the lake activities, you could join me
in the throne room.

Pamela,
This is way cool!!! Now remember - your surprise is for the Beach Party! I won't tell until you "bring" it out there! LOL

And I would definitely come to a party in the castle! Gotta start thinking about a dessert. I have a head start now from the others, who don't know (tehe).

Ok, Tom we need you at the party. Never mind clever things to write! Just come as you are!

On a serious note, I did want to mention about your husband's doc and the law suit. I'd definitely do as Tom suggests and try to find out more information. You should also be able to find your state's bureau of occupational affairs (or the department that licenses professionals - including doctors) online. And you should be able to access medical complaints which your doc might have against him. Remember it's easy for anyone to file a lawsuit. Just takes a couple hundred dollars and going to the court house. Many doctors who have been in practice for a long time have probably had a couple of law suits filed against them (and because it's been filed doesn't mean the doc is guilty - unless there's been a trial or settlement, and the latter may be sealed). Anyway, I'm not trying to defend any doctor who is negligent or commits malpractice by any means. But if a doc's been in practice a long time, has a good reputation, and has an occasional suit filed it may not be that unusual. However, if a doctor has had a lot of suits, or even one and has only been in practice a few years, I'd steer clear. And medical complaints which have been found against him/her means that their peers (other doctors0 have found them guilty, and to me that's much more serious. So see if you can check into the state's licensing board for complaints against him.

And bring that cake over to the party soon!
