As i posted before i was newly dx with lyme and i was given doxy and antibiotic for it! This is a nightmare pill!!!!! sad I feel so much worse right now. I really feel like i am going to die. Im cold and hot, i cant eat, the pain is worse, i feel like i am going crazy, and to top it all off i cant stop burping but when im doing so it burns the heck out of my throat and nose! It is just awful. I was in a lot of pain and tired all the time but i wish i had that back compared to what i am going through right now. Its been since tuesday this pill has sucked the life out of me and i wish it would stop! I thought it would go away by now or would not be as bad but it just seems like everyday i feel even worse. It scares me because my other half works everyday untill 11 pm and i am left at home with the three little ones and i cant even cook for them! My oldest whom is 10 usually will make them food or help in anyway(which kills me she should be being a kid not playing the role of mom) but everyother weekend she leaves with her dad and this weekend she is there! I need to be encouraged to get up to do anything and its making me feel like i cant take care of anything. I feel like everything has been ripped away from me and i am losing it now!
Sorry this is so long i just have no where else to turn! Thanks for your time and i pray so hard that you all are well or at least better then i!

oh Donna!!! i wish i could make you feel better. by the sounds of it your daughter is a wonderful young lady. You must be so proud of her. I understand it must be awful watching your dauhter do things for you, but being a daughter i have to say i would have done the same for my mum, and i bet you would have to. I think it is called love!!!!! Doxy??? is that doxycycline? what meds are you on? maybe they can change the meds. After my op i was put on tramadol, and that made me go the same way you are talking. As soo as i stopped taking them i was better. Why not take it easy for now, watch tv, movie or something read!! whatever, but maybe after a good rest you can do somehing. Be thinking of you!!! Im here to talk if you want.

Donna:

I am so sorry that this medication is causing you so much pain! How awful! I can only imagine - you think finally they've figured out what's wrong so you should be feeling BETTER, not worse. I would definitely call your doctor. Like Amanda said, maybe they can make some changes in the medication for you or at least find a way to counteract the side-effects of these meds. You shouldn't have to suffer like this.

Let us know how it goes! I hope you are feeling better soon!

Donna,
I hope you also post to the lyme disease board as they may know more over there, but to me an antibiotic shouldn't be making you feel like that. It sounds more to me (and I'm not a doc or a pharmacist!) like the antibiotic isn't working and whatever the infection is (or the lyme - and this is where you need to get info from people who know much more than I!) maybe worsening. Please call your doc's office or at least your pharmacist and see if this is what you should be experiencing with the doxycyline. Maybe someone here may have more info. The dots here aren't connecting. Please make sure you get to someone who knows about lyme disease ASAP.

I know you posted before and I'm sorry I can't recall it all (my memory seems even worse this week than normal!).

Keep us posted.
