How's it going today, friend? I've been thinking of you a lot today and hoping the sun was shining where you are.

I think I saw in one of the threads that you mentioned the Olympics... Did you watch any of the opening ceremonies? WOW! I thought it was just amazing.

Hi, Ry,
I just finished watching the U.S. men's relay team (swimming) win gold!! Cool! I watched most of the opening ceremonies and found them so soothing I wished I had a DVD (I imagine one will be put out, but I just want the relaxing imagery!). Fascinating all those people in sync, isn't it? And the lights. Wow is right!

It's been a chilly, rainy day here today. Feels like fall which is depressing as it comes soon enough. Our summers are so short. I can't believe it's almost mid-August! I guess I'm doing a little better but it's mostly because I haven't talked to anyone. And that sounds pretty sad! It just seems every contact I've had with even the best of relatives this week has ended up hurting. This being alone stuff - it ain't all it's cracked up to be, is it? I feel like I'm married to my tv! I just want a piece of my life back, but can't figure out how that's going to happen.

How are you doing?

I too have been watching the Olympics gals and wow! Can you believe the men's swim team????? They are going hard this year!!! I've been watching the gymnastics and I think they are doing quite well too.

Anyway I know what you are talking about PA by feeling that you are married to your tv cause I too feel that way. Been a bad night for me and I'm up early once again *sigh*

anyway hope you and Ry are doing better today hugsssssssss to both of ya.

Oh my gosh! The Relay was SO great, wasn't it??? Especially after the other team had been kind of talking smack all week about the American team. I thought it was nice to see the young men on our crew handle it with class and character. They seemed almost more excited for each other than for themselves.

I agree on the opening ceremonies too! I would love to get a DVD of the show. I was feeling really crummy that night, and you are right - the precision and synchronization of everything made for some really relaxing imagery. I did watch the gymnastics too, Scarred. I love to watch them, but it's kind of depressing because I just think how I wish I could bend my back a little again! Ah well - it's not like I could have ever moved like those little girls can even before my back got messed up! tongue

I am having a really bad pain day today, and I can't seem to get ahead of things for some reason. So I'm doing the TV thing today too. Hey, PaLady... I was thinking... You know, since we both of us could just really use a buddy, and I just feel like you are such a good friend (I hope that's not too presumptuous), anyways, I was thinking we should set up a time to get together in the chat room and talk sometime. It would be almost like in our real lives when we used to get to go out for a cup of coffee with our friends, you know? We could set a date and time - have a cup of coffee handy, and meet up in the chat room.... What do you think? I know it's kind of silly I suppose... Just a way for us to have a pseudo-life for a little bit. :-) Cuz you're right about the being alone. Not all it's cracked up to be.

Hope the sun has come out today!

Scarred - thanks for the hugs! Right back at ya! Hope you can get some sleep tonight.

Ry

Ry,
These days my chat room skills are pretty sluggish! I used to be able to write and think faster. Now I'm up and down even as i'm reading and responding to posts! shakehead

But let me think about it. Maybe one of these days i'll have a spurt of energy! But don't take it personally - it's not that at all!! smilewinkgrin

PaLady:

Of all people, I am the LAST to take it personally. So just take that thought right out of your head, okay? nono I COMPLETELY understand! COMPLETELY! turn

You know where to find me. smilewinkgrin

In fact... It might be hard to miss me now. I'm having just a little too much fun with all these new emoticons! smhair

Seriously, friend. I just really have appreciated getting to know you here. You've encouraged me a lot in so many ways. I hope you know that. I saw you said you were pretty tired today. Has it been a bad one? It has for me - the pain has been out of control today for some reason. Don't know what the deal is. UGH! I hope you aren't having extra pain today. I hope you get some good restful sleep tonight.

Ry,
LOL! You're a cheap date! Just give you some new toys and you're all set!! shocked

I still try to work for a very few hours a week - I mean like five or six total. Today I worked for the afternoon. Actually, pain isn't that bad today. Wore my SI joint belt all day. I'm beginning to think I'll have to wear it for the rest of my life, but when that SI joint out the pain in my legs and feet shoots up like crazy! But tonight I'm just tired.

Also was smelling somethng in my car on the way home. Maybe an oil leak or something, although I couldn't find anything. So got to try to find someone to look at it. It's 10 years old and needs work which means $$$. I already knew about some of what was needed, and now this! sad

May be at a campfire later at the beach.... eyes

Later,

hahahaha yeah yeah, I'm pretty easy to entertain these days. Good thing, huh? tee hee shocked roll confused devil (oohhh, did I get carried away there? rolleyes)

Sorry to hear about your car. I will hope that it is something inexpensive or just a weird smell on the road. (idea maybe you ran over one of my emoticons? tongue)

I just took some pain meds so I'm hoping they'll kick in here and I can sleep a little, but I'll probably be up again in a few hours, so I'll try to pop in to the beach party too. I just saw Michael Phelps win his NINTH gold medal and the men's gymnastics team is ROCKING it out there, so I'm going to invite them to join us at the campfire, okay? They'll have some interesting stories to tell. We can hear all about the opening ceremonies!

See you in a few.
