Hi All,

I haven't posted in a while, but I have been reading all the threads. Great job to the forum moderators, you all are great! I feel like I am really getting somewhere now. I have such a fantastic team of pain specialists that I am seeing and I finally and feeling some hope. But at any rate, I was wondering if anyone out there is using Kadian for pain? I was using Tylenol #3, but it wasn't handling my constant pain, just my breakthrough pain. I took my first one tonight, and to be honest. I don't feel like I took anything for pain. Anyone else out there on time release pain medication?

Hey Hello.....
I was put on Avinza which is a once a day time released Morphine Sulfate medication. I began the first of July and at my PM appointment yesterday I discussed with my Doc that I wasn't getting the relief I had hoped for. He upped my break through medication to percocet 7.5. I will hope this makes a difference but if tonight is any indication it has failed. No sleep since waking yesterday around 4 a.m.
Try to be patient and give yourself time to adjust to the medication. He did tell me it takes a few days to get any good benefit. If after a month you find no relief be sure to tell your physician and discuss other options that may work. Dosage, medication for break through pain etc.
Good luck with it and

Been on Kadian for the last 3 years and am real happy with the results that have come with this medication. It is a long acting pain medication and hopefully will give you the relief that you are looking for. I am on 200mg twice a day which has at least curbed my pain a bit and can't imagine without this medication what it would be like. I do so hope that yours will be just as good.

On another note; I know a few posts have spoken about checking your meds in front of the pharmacist and I did not do that this time which I am kicking myself for. My Robaxin it seems was short this month as they replaced or inadvertently put percocet instead of Robaxin into the container (about 10 pills). I am going to hollar at them today about this and find out what happened with this. I know that there are new faces at the pharmacy the last two times I have been there and I am wondering if this is why I was shorted the meds.

anyway, good luck with the Kadain kitty and I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.
