shocked  Hey All,
You know the old saying, "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck well it must be a duck"? I went back to my Primary Care Dr. about getting blood work done and also with the definite idea that I had a bladder infection. I mean all the symptoms, ladies you know what I mean. The burning and constant urge is dreadful. Well the Dr. did a test while I was in the office and lo and behold no bladder infection. I was amazed. I was running a fever and having chills on top of the other symptoms. So any one have any ideas for an alternative diagnosis? My Dr. ordered blood work and more urinalysis's' plus back x rays and and MRI to check on the osteomyelitis and I got my pain meds up to date, so that is one less worry but I am really stumped on this bladder infection thing. What else could it possibly be? It's also not a Urinary Tract infection, they tested for that too.

I'm so confused at this point and getting so frustrated. smhair   Oh and of course bloody uncomfortable as well. I'd appreciate any advice or possible diagnosis' from any one.

All the best to everyone for a LPD! Hope to hear from any one that has any ideas.

Thanks for listening, as usual and by the way this is kind of a carry over from posts I was making on the Pain Pump Thread but I'm getting desperate here so I thought I might try a new Thread.

Hugs

Hi, Toritoo,
Don't know if I have much to offer, especially at this hour, but thought I'd just chime in anyway! rolleyes

Sometimes the tests that are done in the office are pretty minimal, and maybe you need some kind of culture done. Could it be a gyn issue - such as some type of gyn infection that is causing irritation? See if anything comes back on the blood work, and if it still shows up negative and you still have the symptoms I'd ask for a referral to a specialist.

Wish I had more ideas!

Something regarding your situation is tickling my mind but for the life of me I can't think of it. I remember reading about something similiar on one of the other forums. I will have a looksie and see if something rings a bell. But if you are really uncomfortable (are you in the states?), you can use OTC Azo Standard for the burn and urge. It will turn your urine orange and it can throw off any testing but it can help with that horrible feeling until you can get to the bottom of it. Also, if you do decide to use this be sure to stop it a few days before any sort of testing since it might interfer with the results. I was highly prone to bladder and kidney infections and this had helped me from going insane.

sad  Dear Palady and Sheri,
Thanks for your posts. I did have a culture done after I left the Dr.s so I guess it's just wait and see. Sheri, I am in the states but I have this wonderful cream that my mom brought back from Wales, GB and it has helped immensely with the out side problem but not the inside shakehead . But thanks for another possibility, I will look it up and see if I can take that as well. It's just so strange because even though I don't have them often and I have had a full hysterectomy you never forget what a bladder infection feels like. Ewwww.

I guess I will just have to wait for the cultures to come back and see what happens from there. When I was in the Dr.s office she did mention another type of infection but all I caught was Asty???litis and apparently it is rare. I told her then that would be me. Seems everything that has happened to me health wise has been very rare and hard to diagnose. I am just that lucky. lol

So thanks again ladies I will see what happens next and go from there I guess.

Have a LPD all,

Can you drink cranberry juice? Whenever I get those issues and don't have an infection that tests pick up on I go buy some pure (no suger, not from concentrate) cranberry juice and drink as much of it as I can stand and in a few days I am feeling much better.

I hope you feel better,
Sarrah

Thanks Sarrah,
Cranberry juice is always my way of going first too. No luck there. I love cranberries and this is no exaggeration I eat at least a pound of them a week, they just taste so good. So thanks for your input it is much appreciated.
Good day all

I love them too. I have a major addiction to dried cranberries and will eat them until my stomach revolts!

I had a terrible terrible pain and blood ... down there.
Pain that made me see black in front of my eyes.
The Gyn thought it was Cancer or
Bladder stones. She sent me to a Urologist. I had a Cystoscopy and a sono gram.
Turned out to be .......... NOTHING
The urologist has me on a low dose of Antibiotics
And the Gynocologist has me on straight Estrogen.
Both of those medications seem dangerous to me.
But here I am ...
I almost feel like the Urologist is pulling a trick on me because
it still hurts and I have so much trouble going pee.
I'm not much help.

There is a med they can give you till you figure this out called Usept. It will turn your urine a blue color but it numbs your bladder and urethra so helps with any pain and isnt narcotic so no big deal to call it in. Hope that makes you feel better till you get some answers.

Soft Hug,

cry  Thanks All,
I will definitely ask my dr about that med for numbing that sounds like it could be helpful. I've taken 5 days of Cipro and I can't say it's that much better, maybe a little. I did all these tests last Tues. so hopefully I'll here something soon cause I am so tired of this. Doesn't it just seem like if it's not one thing it's another. Always something new. Not a good new either which would be nice for a change. I'm sure many of you would agree with me on that count.

I'll let you all know what new and exciting thing I have coming up next time but till then, thanks again and good luck to you all.
Elkrose it's nice to know I'm not the only one with this weird thing for cranberries but they are just so yummy. yeah Not cheap either but worth it. Gentle hugs to all and good night.
