Some wierd sensations lately have me wondering whats going on. I have spinal stenosis along with massive amounts of scar tissue build up in the area around two lower back surgeries. Seems things are getting a tad bit tight down there and im getting these spastic electrial type jolts that have my whole body jump or quiver for a half second and i can tell they originate from lower back but effect entire body. The frequency of the jolts is ever increasing and the jolt itself. Could this be from nerve dammage or like i said, things getting squeezed in the nerve canal? As i layed in bed watching tv to doze off, i had counted six times in a matter of half hour. Dont have many in the day, but especially if im in my recliner or in bed.

Could be that the inflammation/scar tissue is pressing on your nerves. Or sometimes, at least with me, the muscles tense up so hard that it affects my nerves in my neck. And when I lie down or rest, the muscles start easing and I get those little "electrical" twitches. Could it be from the way you are lying or sitting that is causing this? I found that after years of holding my head or body a certain way that when I am relaxing, I forget the proper posture and revert back to the way I was doing it. When the pain strikes, I take notice and try to sit/lie properly.

ELDerLy, it sounds to me much like the muscle spasms I get in the lower back.  It almost always happens only when I lay down.  I got muscle relaxers and have no problem with it most of the time.
