I have a pain under my right rib. It feels like something is swollen under there or like I have a tennis ball in there when i'm sitting down. It started about a week ago and I started having pain there when i breathe in as of tonight. When i lay down and press under that rib i jump from the pain, otherwise it's just a constant low-grade pain but getting worse. Some of my med. history is i'm a diabetic, also, i have been constipated for over a week. Has anyone had these symptoms before? Sincerely, Megan

Hi, Megan,
Welcome to the HW forum. There can be so many causes for pain and from your description I think it's really important you get a medical evaluation soon. You want to find out what that tennis ball feeling is; could be just a cramped muscle, but it could be other things. Possibly could be related to the constipation, but I'm just speculating. We're not doctors here, and not here to give medical advice, but can be supportive. So the first step is to see a doctor and have him/her assess what might be causing your pain.

I absolutely agree with PaLady. You can't let that go without a doctor evaluating you. With diabetes it could be so many things. like an infection. Please please go to the doctor.

And welcome welcome welcome to the forum. We are so glad you are here. Please keep posting and let us get to know you. You will find a lot of knowledgeable and supportive folks here. We all care.

Hi Megan. I have had the same symptoms for years now with no diagnosis. You are the first person I've heard describe a tennis ball under the ribs since I made that same comment when this whole thing started. Here's what's been done so far. Angiogram, removed gallbladder, upper and lower GI, colonoscopy, transvaginal ultrasound, abdominal ultrasounds, CT scans, and a few gallons of blood drawn for lab work. Still no diagnosis. My next move  is to find another doctor who can think outside the box and hopefully get an MRI which is the only test I have not had. Please keep posting with your progress and I will do the same. Two tennis balls are better than one. Connie
