I just came back from the dr's and he put me on soma for my muscle spasms and kept me on lortab for my back pain. My ankle is no better the dr. thinks I sprained my ankle and he ordered x rays and a ankle brace.  I hope everyone has a lpd.

Glad you got some meds, hope they will give you some relief. They say in many instances a sprain can be worse than a broken bone. I had knee surgery in 04 and was going in for my 1st post op visit. The walkway had deep lines in the concrete by the handicap ramp, the toe of my shoe got caught in the crack, which resulted in me twisting the knee something terrible. I was trying to keep from falling on it and ended up doing way more damage. I tore muscles and tendons on the MRI done. I spent 1 week in the hospital for pain control and they thought I had a blood clot in there too, it swelled immediately the size of a cantelope and the entire leg swelled from ankle up. I spent a stinking yr in a DonJoy brace and it took 18 months to completely heal. They are no fun. Tace care and be kind to your body. Susie

I am sorry things are going so rough. Sprained ankles can hurt much worse then even the bone being broken. I was a regular at the ace wrap isle as a child and teen due to a career in gymnastics. All I can say is ice and then heat was what would help me and strangly enough, my coach would have me rub it with icy hot for about 30 minutes each day till the bruise was 100% gone. Hurt like heck at first but I know it helped in the long run.

Soma is a strong drug and should not be taken lightly, it can make a person loopy for over 24hrs after taking it!

I hope you are feeling better this afternoon and your pain is low.

Take care,

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz

I apologize for not responding. I read your post to Susie, and I guess I missed that you were looking for support.

I'm kind of overwhelmed myself these days, so sometimes there's not much leftover. But I do hope things improve for you.
