Hi everyone
I was recently diagnosed with costochondritis but i am not sure if the diagnosis was right.
Firstly the rib area is tender to touch but only sometimes and not it'snot that painful.
Also its been 2 weeks shouldn't it have gone by now if it was costo?
Also is it possible for the pain to radiate to my back directly behind?
Also can the pain be like a burning sensation at times?
The pain does get worse with upper body movements especially when i bend over.
Please give me your opinion!
Thanks

sb, nice to meet you, and you need to get into see your Doctor as soon as possible,
okay..Make a list of all your symptoms too and include the ones you listed in the Asthma/Allergy Forum.
We are not Doctors here and can only offer up support and maybe a lil comfort.
So please keep us posted after you've seen your Doctor.
Till then lots of soft hugz........

Thanks chartreux, i have been to see my doctor. He diagnosed me with costo and as for the itchy feeling deep inside my chest (upper back) he didn't seem bothered with that.

Because the symptoms i have do not match other peoples experiences of costo i think my doc is wrong.

First let me say sorry you have cost. I have that as well and it's part of the fibro, I have, usually the two go hand in hand.
I was dx'd first with fibro then later on with cost.
What type of Doctor did you see, a pcp (primary care physician) ?
you might need to see about switching to a new doc and if you have cost, then maybe
a rhemy or arthritis doctor. As for the itching could be a reaction to a medication.
Itching is a reaction to something, have you been put on any new medications??
try taking benadryl and if that helps , then maybe make an appointment with an allergy Doctor as soon as possible.
Goog luck to you.
Lots of soft hugz
try a heat pad for the chest pain of cost.
Keep us posted...
