Hi all,

I've been down with a very nasty virus since Monday. Two ER trips for hydration and IV nausea meds and one to my doc's office for the same. cry Today is the first day since Monday that I was able to eat a few bites of food, soft mashed potatoes and they tasted like a banquet! Oh MY! This is not good. It's hard on a 'normal' body but on those of us with other health issues this is on the edge of life threatening. No way I could get water down for 3 days. If any of you feel something coming on, please DO get to your doc. This started with 2 y/o grandson, then to me, hubby is nearly holding it off and now SIL has it. It's going like wildfire.

I just wanted to let you know I was here. Sometimes you may not see me post but I'm in and out regularly...not this week. I hope to be active again on Monday.

Loves! and keep away from sick people! smhair

Wow, I am sorry you had this virus. Young children pass on VERY virulent viruses.
I always worry when my grandaughters age 2 & 4 are coughing or having running
noses. My daughter doesn't seem to worry but she has just been lucky for 4 years.
In fact, we all have.

My trip to ER last Aug. (another health crisis) was horrible. It was realllly cold in the
waiting room. There was no place to lie down. The bathroom was filthy. None
of the personnel seemed to give a dang what the problem was. I was in a "good"

They finally did let me in early because I was dripping perspiration. My hair was as wet
as when you get out of the swimming pool. I was dehyrated and they could
not get a vein without doing a lot of PAINFUL poking and poking. I had an infection.
I believe I got it in my dentist's office. I did not have to spend the night.

Yes, when you have something else wrong with you a virus is much worse than for
"normal" people. I was in terrible pain but they would not give me a pain shot or
whatever because I take Methadone. (I don't know if they would have given
me a pain shot if I had been taking Oxycontin)

It will take you a long time to recover. Take it easy with Xmas coming.

I think the best way to get speedy care in the ER is to kinda clutch your chest
and moan. They do not like the idea of a heart attack in front of their faces. eyes

So glad to see you return but sorry to learn how sick you've been. Wow! You're so right about being sick on top of what we already have. I think of it as layers of sickness and sometimes you just can't handle one more layer - even a cold!

I know it's hard with the holidays approaching, but you know yourself your health is more important so take it easy and even isolate if you need to! I know I hate being around sick relatives who can handle a bad virus much better than we can.

So be good to yourself!
