Narcotic patches

I have worn a norspan patch for a year now and was wondering if anyone else on any kind of patch knows roughly how long before they start to become ineffective.  How long have you so far worn them.  thanks   sue2z

Hi Sue,

Are you referring to how many years yo used the Norspan patch? Or how long do you wear 1 patch? I'm guessing the first one. I don't wear patches but I would guess that it would be like any other pain med. It varies from person to person as to how long before your body becomes used to them and you require a higher dose.

On pills it seems to be over a year before I need an increase, then it's not very much...just a little bump. I'm sure others will be along with more experience and be able to answer your question.

All I know is that the patches are supposed to work for up to 7 days....it's bupernorphine, and you shouldn't take narcotics with it. Sorry, but that's all I know.
