Because of some recent events where I have been sleepwalking without realizing that I have been doing it. I decided to do a little research on my two medications that I take for sleep, Lunesta and Topamax. The Topamax I really don't take for sleep I actually was prescribed it for nerve pain but I take it at bedtime along with my Lunesta. Anyway I did some research and found out that with Lunesta you are suppose to tell your doctor if you are taking medication for sleep (EG; Methocarbomal which is Robaxin (my muscle relaxer) and narcotic pain relievers (codeine) (geee my Percocet) and Hey wouldn't you know it Topamax is in there too topiramate). Now....I have to wonder if maybe this isn't what is causing my problems. The topamax has caused me to totally forget things that I have done and believe me there are things I HAVE to remember! The Lunesta is causing me to sleepwalk.

So I am going to talk to my doctor about this on Tuesday when I see her and see what she has to say. I don't think that the Topamax is really helping and I am afraid that maybe it might be the culprit of all my problems here. Last night, sometime during the night I must have switched sides on the couch cause I was laying in the opposite side that I had gone to bed on. But the real strange part was that my computer and everything that I had on my little table was too moved to the other end and I don't remember moving it. Very wierd a regular Sherlock Holmes Mystery! Also for some reason my left shoulder feels like someone has taken it and twisted it out of place!! It hurts like heck and I do not know what in the world I have done to it. I can barely lift my arm and it feels like the muscles are tighter then the screws on a navy ship! ACK!

Anyway......that's what's going on from my end. If ya got any ideas...I'm open to suggestions.

Hugs

Scarred,
I just know I could never sleep on the couch without waking up in some kind of major neck and/or arm/shoulder pain. about the meds, I don't really know as much, especially how the combination at the same time might work. Your pharmacist might have some ideas.

Scarred,

When I was on topamax I would forget EVERYTHING. It was quite distressing. I would be talking to someone and just blank on it and start doing something else so maybe it is part of the problem.

Take care and good luck! I hope you feel better soon.

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz
