Dear Skeye,
So how are you doing? And how are things going? Give us an update when you feel up to it.

Hugs to you,

Hi Palady,

Thanks for thinking of me! I was having a rough few days there. Besides the pain, my eye has been giving me a lot of trouble the past couple weeks with not moving properly, it just gets kind of "stuck" & doesn't want to move. Sometimes I can force it to move one-word-at-a-time for a short while, but that's the best it gets. There isn't really anything I can do about it. This is nothing new, it's been going on since the injury, but it has been somewhat worse, and the past few days especially, it was really bad. I couldn't do any fine movements with my eye at all, so reading was out of the question. And I was just having a very hard time focusing my eye & seeing in general. I was crashing into just about everything. I've been pretty upset. I was thinking of calling my doc today & I still may, but it seems a lot better today & I'm not sure that there is anything he could do anyway! Today's been the first day since Tuesday or Wednesday that I could really read at all, although I'm still having problems.

But good news, I got my new cell phone/digital reader on Friday! I haven't played around with it much (I've also been incredibly busy), although I did make it read 10 pages for me yesterday. It was great! Although it is a little slower downloading & processing the images than I thought, so it does take some effort to use, but even so, it should be really helpful! Too bad I didn't have it the last couple weeks, maybe then I wouldn't be over 2 wks behind on my reading. I'm still not sure how I'm going to manage to catch up, but we'll just take that one step at a time. I just need to keep reminding myself that I'm doing to best that I can.

Ugh, as I'm typing this, my eye is actually starting to get real bad again. It's tired, I'm tired (still no luck in the sleeping department), so I'm off to try to get some rest!

Skeye

Skeye,
I'm sorry things are getting worse, but the digital reader sounds neat. Hopefully, you can rely more and more on it.

And write in the blackboard in your mind 100 times:

I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm doing the best that I can...

Hugs!

Skeye, As I write this my hope is that you are off in dream land. I am finding that as we deal with CP, we often have to deal with other issues as well. It could be that we concentrate on the CP and many of the other issues take a back seat but are still just as real. We often feel like we don't have much left in us as we fight the pain and the side effects. Even when we have days that the pain seems to be more under control, we still have the other issues to attend to. What amazes me is as we listen to the trials and everyday dealings of others, we see that they have more strength than most of the people around us. You are a testimony of this fact. Keep doing you best and keep inspiring others as well as being an encouragement to those who walk a similar path. Blessings!

Thanks for the kind words, fatherjohn. You are right, in an odd way CP brings out both our weaknesses & our strengths.

Palady, got an extra piece of chalk? Mine seems to be only a tiny stub now. I've been doing too much writing! turn
