Hello everyone at H.W.,

Has any one ever heard or tried Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?   Their has been alot of talk about it within the last year or so. Some things are FDA approved and covered by inssurance. Unfotunatly Complex Regional Pain Syndrom is not covered so it takes a small fortune to try this procedures. This is definatly my last attempt to try to do something positive without drugs. I am sooo sick of taking all my prescriptions, but if I dont I know I will be putting myself in a unbearable situation and we all know there is only a chosen few that understand our disease and are willing to help in the way we need it.

I will be in Florida (where his bldg is) for one month. Sessions are 5 days a week for 2 hours per day. I had to rent a condo in Tampa FL. close to his facility. I am hoping 20 sessions will do wounders for me. I am trying to be optimistic since the last 12 operations didnt do a thing except continuing getting cut up inside and out for a gamble type outcome. At least I wont be cut up for this procedure and I have talked to many people just like myself and they are absolutly pain free!! I know it dosnt work for all, but the way things are going for me now maybe god will throw me a bone and heal me..........

Hope everyone has positive outcomes for there misc procedures they are about to have. I have been reading posts, and god bless everyone here at H.W.

Hope Everyone Has A Pain Free Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                   Kind Regards,
                       Mike

Mike,
I've only heard of its use in Germany, but I guess from what you're saying it's now being tried here but not yet for CRPS. I'll be curious to hear how it goes for you. I don't have CRPS, but I do wonder if that's another way to help "reset" the brain regarding chronic pain.

Good luck!!

Palady,

That is definatly one of the things they say it does, amoung many other things as well.  There are quite a few oxygen places around these days, but I have been talking to Dr Spegeil in Tampa for a few months and decided to go there. Some are multi person and the one I am going to is single person with all glass on top so I wont feel claustaphobic.

I will definatly let you know when I return, for good or bad.

Hope Everyone Has A Pain Free Day,

                        Kind Regards,

                                Mike

Milke,
If you don't mind my asking, how much do the treatments cost (since I take it you're paying out of pocket)?

Thank You Everone Hear At H.W.
I Know Palady Was asking about the cost of the treatments,They ae between $150.00 to $200.00 per session. Also the sessions last between 1-1/2 hours to 2 hours. The whole top of the oxygen tube is completley glass, so you dont get those claustrophobic feeling so you can listen to a dvd or listen to music or take a nap!(a couple muscle relaxers might help as well!!
The only other problem that might arrise isI am booked for 20 sessions. Now say like i have read many many times how people want to stay maybee a couple extra weeks because the Dr. Speigel and myself feel that I am making such miraculous progress than I would have to tryto take out an extention on my condo so that I can feel totaly content and keep going for my procedures. The standard is 20 sessions, but everyone is different and I have read many people that did some 20-40 exta treatments and never regreted it. They where 100% better when they got home. And thats not just one storie, there are a lot of them, but again I assume alot of them did not have the results these people did......... BUMMER.......
Anyway I will Have a laptop with me and providing I get some areas for the wifi will work, I will keep you all in mind

Thank you again for your interest and I hope it will be positive, I KNOW WE ALL NEED IT!!!!!!!!!
HopeEveryone Has A Pain Free Day
Kind Regards
Mike
P.S The more times it works for rsd the sooner they will consider aproving for insurace cases it in the futuer!

Yes, and the sooner they can figure out what it does to help with the pain maybe there will be applications for other types of CP!

We'll be rooting for you!

Mike,
I sure hope it works wonders for you in the required 20 sessions..
Keep us posted when you can..
I've heard about this type of treatment but I think insurance probably
says this is too experimental so no insurance will cover it for CP..
Don't know why when these thing have been around for years yet
are still classified as "experimental" by insurance, it's not fair to
us that could use relief...
Anyways really hope it helps and will keep my finger crossed for you..
