Mom,
Wish we had icons for crossed fingers! But I do wish you lots of luck and hope you don't have to make that drive. 320 miles - whew! - that's quite a distance.

Mom,

I have fibro fog and don't remember if you said why you have these large hernias. Is it post surgery or did you just end up with them because.

I have a close friend who had a liver transplant and who has had six subsequent surgeries for hernia repair since then. They are no fun I know. Sorry you are having to face such a long trip to be evaluated for that kind of surgery. Good luck and we will wait to hear from you to see how it all went.

Gentle Hugs,

Lindaloo

sad   sad sad Went to see the Dr. but it did not do any good.At this point it is not causing a problem medically it just bothers me.He feels that some time in the future that they will have to do something about it but until then they would like to leave it alone.Unfortunately he also said that when they do need to work on it that it will end up looking worse then it is now.It is pretty ugly right now.Linda the hernia`s were from all the surgery I had last year to save my life.

Sorry to hear that you didnt get the news that you wanted. But at least they know it can be fixed. I have some really bad scars from my accident and they used to bother me a lot. Now I just think of them as part of me and who I am today. Looks really aren't everything!

Unfortunately it`s not just the looks of them but the hernia`s stick out a lot and one of the largest puts a lot of pressure on my right hip bone that was injured from the bullet(Part of it was shattered and had to be removed)This makes it hurt more.

I totally understand about hip and pelvic pain. My right hip was crushed in my accident to the point that they had to reattach it to my spinal column. Now my left one is giving me problems since it is the one that has to bear all my weight. They are estimating that I will have to have a hip replacement within 5 years. I understand that the hernias stick out. I was referring to what you said about them looking worse after the surgery than they do now. As long as you can get relief from surgery to remove them, that is the important thing. I gave up on looks a long time ago. I just want to feel even a little better. You have my thoughts and best wishes!
