I think it's too early. Time has been crawling for me as I await medical stuff.

I do wonder how long they will keep him. Things have changed so much since I had my surgery, back then they kept me in the hospital for 8 days!

Anyway Pete I hope You are doing well! Remember take it EASY! Work can wait! No matter what your boss might think!

Take care of your self!

Good Luck to You

Pete, you told us you would be in for 2 to 3 days and then heading with you wife for a little recovery time. We hope you get a chance to give us a quick update. Our hopes and prayers are that when the pain of the surgery subside, you find a new level of freedom from the pain you had. We miss you and look forward to your great words of encouragement. Blessings buddy.

Hi Everybody,

It might be a few more days for Pete to respond!  I remember feeling pretty out of it for about 6-7 days after the fusion!

We're here Pete waiting to hear......

Gosh, I'm concerned about him, too, but I think it's way too soon to expect him to be
up posting to us. I was in the hospital for 6 days with my fusion. He's probably also got
his neck immobilized. Pete tends to feel bad when he doesn't respond to even one post -
so Pete if you're reading and can't post it's ok! We told you to take it easy and that means
getting on the computer, too!

We'll be here when you're up for it, but don't worry if you're not!

Hi everyone!
Sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone. I met the devil and wasn't too pleased with the place he lives! So after a long 2 days w/ him I came back and I promiss ya'll I ain't going back there again! My Doc said he brought in some hammers, chizzels and power drills but he did just fine! If there is a #10 on a scale of #10, I was there for 2 days no matter what they gave me for pain, it didn't work. I'm wondering if that has something to do w/ taking methadone for so long? Anyway, I'm off to bed, I'm still pretty beatup. I just wanted to check in quickly and let you know I'm still alive. The good news is that all the pain going down my left shoulder and arm is gone ALREADY! Good Job Doc!!! More tomorrow!

Pete,
It's great to hear from you and to hear the surgery appears to have been successful! i'm a little confused - it seems although the pain in your left arm/shoulder is gone, your other pain has worsened. I'm sure you'll tell us more about meeting the devil when you can!!!

Now take it easy and heal!!!

Healing Hugs coming your way!

Hey Pete, I think you are right, it was the Methadone killing your pain meds. Oh, I feel for you. That is wonderful news about the arm & shoulder pain being gone, thats the way it should be after surgery gone!!! So, I take it you are having alot of post -op pain. I feel ya friend. Take care.......Susie

PS: I agree your dr did an awesome job.

Hi Pete!

It is so wonderful to hear from you! We are all so proud of you, that you made it through this surgery and are doing beautifully. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am that you are already feeling positive effects from it!! I'm sure you're still hurting horribly from post-op pain, but it sounds like the surgery was, and will be worth it! Hang in there buddy & keep taking it easy! Even if you are feeling good, listen to your wife! I'm sure she is telling you the same thing! One step at a time! You're going to get through this! We're here for you my friend. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts & prayers!

Here's to a speedy & painless recovery!
Skeye

Pete glad to have you back.I don't Know if the methadone has anything to do with it but I had the same problem with the pain after my fusion.I end up having to stay 8 days.I am on a different medication for pain then you but it sounds like a few of us have had the same problem. If you are like me once you do not have the pain from the area that was fused You find that other areas have been hurting around there but was over shadowed by the other pain.Hope this makes since I have been on a high pain level all week.
Lost half of my small intestineJan.2008.Ilieostomy for 5 months then reverst in June 2008,Nerve damage to right leg, part of my right hip bone removed Jan. 2008,Cronic pain, hernia, infection in my back called discites, and depression.Gallbladder removed Nov,2008.Surgery to fuse L3 and L4 vertabra Dec. 31,2008.Mother to 9 kids 7 boys 2 girls and 1 stepson.4 grandsons,9 grandaughters.4 of my grandkids I inherited from my twin sister who passed away 6 1/2 years ago from a blood clot after surgery.God has given me my life back after I almost lost it.Even though its a painful and sometimes hard road to walk I take it one step at a time and give thanks to god for every step I take.
