My appt went well. I adore him. He said that it is likely I had a bad reaction and we will wait for a while to do another one and if we do it will be with another steroid.

He also said sugery is my only other option. He does not want to give me stronger meds because I react so oddly to everything. He also added Skelaxin but hopefully once I have given it a good try he will agree they don't work at all and work with me for something for my muscles in my neck.

Oh...he said he was a motor-cycle farmer. He also said I can get back on my ATV as long as I am careful and don't do anything that hurts. To bad vibrations make my neck hate me more mad

Sarrah,
Glad to hear your visit with your doc went well today. I'm a little confused about what you wrote about the Skelaxin. It is a muscle relaxant, so I would think it might help with your neck pain. Have you tried it in the past?

Also, have you considered radio frequency (RF)? It is technically a surgery, but is basically the equivalent of laser surgery. Not the least bit painful & you are released right after surgery. I had it on my neck about 8 years ago & it lasted until recently. Got rid of the muscle & nerve pain both. I'm not sure how bad your stenosis is, so maybe it's not a possibility for you. If it is possible, I really recommend trying it before doing any kind of fusion surgery or such. It has been a god-send for me. I just got it done on my low back in January & am feeling 75% better already & keep working on more PT exercises to build muscle strength which in turn decreases the spasms and related pain.

feel better & I hope the meds kick in soon for you,
frances

Ekkrose,
I'm glad you "adore" him! It's so nice to find a good match with a doctor.

Frances has a good point though. Ask about RF before any kind of surgery. I would have loved to have tried RF, but they couldn't identify the precise location of my pain.

It sounds like a good start.

I have tried skelaxin in the past and all it did was...well nothing.

I will ask about Radio Frequency when I see my PM next. Thanks for the idea.
