I think that this is okay to post, as I have no affiliation with this magazine. I just wanted to let people know about my experience with it, as it is a great resource for CP patients. If this goes against the rules in any way, I apologize & the moderators can remove or edit the post.

I wanted to tell everyone about the magazine called Pain Pathways. You may have seen it before at your PM's office, as I believe it is sent to most doctors. It is put out by the World Institute of Pain. My mother has been bringing it home from my father's office for me for the past several months. I have found it to be a really great resource. I has articles about all sorts of treatments & aspects of CP, from opiods to depression, and everything in between. It also shares the personal experiences of CP patients & health care practitioners. The information in the spring 2009 issue, which I got today, really made me want to share this. There has been a lot of talk on here lately about pain pumps & people considering having one implanted. Well, this issue had a great informational piece in it about pain pumps & who benefits from them & how they work, etc. They also had a nice article listing some of the top pain clinics and cancer clinics in the USA & the world. One other article that I think some of you may be interested in, was an article about prescription assistance programs. It gave a lot of great information about sources that could possibly help you to fund your medications. Another nice thing about this magazine, is that in the back, it lists both upcoming conferences & events in pain medicine, as well as current clinical trials for many different conditions.

I am in no way trying to sell this magazine, or trying to get you to buy it. I just want to put it out there, that this is potentially a great source of information, and as CP patients, we can NEVER have enough information about our conditions & treatment options, etc. I won't post the link to their website, but I'm sure you can find it if you google the magazine.

I hope this helps someone!

Skeye thanks so much for posting this. I don't think anyone will have a problem with your post. It a an informative type thing and so much knowledge is needed for us CPers. I would love to read the info on pumps since I have one. A person can never learn too much as far as I am concerned. Thanks again. Susie

Yes, I know about the website, but I didn't want to post it here, in case it was against the rules, since I don't want to appear to be marketing the magazine. I figured people could google it, like you did, if they were interested.
