The new “Clinical Guidelines for the Use of Chronic Opioid Therapy in Chronic Noncancer Pain” where recently published (2/2009) in the Journal of Pain.  The “Clinical Guidelines” are one of the most respected consensuses of recommended treatment practices for the use of opioids. The sections of dose escalations and opioid rotation were very interesting.

Just and FYI.  Obviously, we are not physicians.  However, it is nice to know what the current recommendation are - keep in mind everyone is an individual and needs treatment tailored to their individual needs.
