I've been taking 5/325 percocets for BTP for about four years now and I always need about two at a time, even though he writes the rx for 1 every 6 hours--I've always told him I take two at a time, but I think he writes it that way b/c of regs or something (never understood it).  Well, my pain is challenging to manage right now and seem to need to take the meds earlier and was thinking of asking PM MD if I can get 10 mg percocets (now that I think about it, do they even make 10 mg?), b/c I'm worried about all the acetametaphin I'm injesting; also thinking the rx will last me longer if I don't have to take two at a time.  I have a great MD, but it's a delicate thing asking to up your narcotic dose.

Hello BigLucy,
I would definitley ask your Dr. straight out if he could give you something that won't irritate your stomach as much, and that might take care of the pain better... I did that and was changed from Lortab 10/500 to Oxycodone 15 mg. It was a big relief as far as the pain goes...and was easier on my stomach...let me know how it goes..

We are all in the same boat...unfortunatley it seems like it's sinking...

Yes, they do make 10mg percs, although like you I still take 2 of the 5/325's. It seems to me I recall you having tried oxycontin - am I wrong? Because with your working maybe a longer acting med would be better. Maybe discussing that with your pm might be a good approach - since you're trying to stay working.

I am SO TIRED of having to think of every inch of everything - if you get what I mean!

I guess I should have added that I do take Morphine ER a.m. & p.m. the perc's are for BTP (which I do need often).
